The head of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement unit in charge of deportations has directed his officers to take action against all undocumented immigrants they may cross paths with, regardless of criminal histories. The guidance appears to go beyond the Trump administrations publicly stated aims, and some advocates say may explain a marked increase in immigration arrests.
In a February memo, Matthew Albence, a career official who heads the Enforcement and Removal Operations division of ICE, informed his 5,700 deportation officers that, effective immediately, ERO officers will take enforcement action against all removable aliens encountered in the course of their duties.
The Trump administration, including Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly, has been clear in promising to ramp up immigration enforcement, but has so far emphasized that its priority was deporting immigrants who posed a public safety threat. Indeed, Kelly, to whom Albence ultimately reports, had seemed to suggest a degree of discretion when he told the agencies under his command earlier this year that immigration officers may initiate enforcement actions against any undocumented person they encountered. That guidance was issued just a day before Albence sent the memo to his staff.
A spokesman with ICE said Albences directive did not represent a break with Kellys stated aims, and was consistent with current agency policies.
The memo directly supports the directions handed down in the executive orders and mirrors the language ICE consistently uses to describe its enforcement posture, the spokeswoman, Sarah Rodriguez, said in a statement. As Secretary Kelly and Acting Director [of ICE] Homan have stated repeatedly, ICE prioritizes the arrest and removal of national security and public safety threats; however, no class or category of alien in the United States is exempt from arrest or removal.(continued)

All illegal aliens (undocumented immigrants) are removable.
Good riddance and MAGA!
Agreed. "Criminal aliens" is much more clear-cut.
This is the WIN of WINS.

....undocumented immigrants...
Illegal alien Invaders. Quite often violent criminal aliens.
Unfortunately, O’Boomerang will come right back.
Isn’t their job to catch and deport illegal aliens? Then DO IT.
The memo must not have made it to New Jersey. Virtually every city and town in this state is almost to the point of being over run with Mexican illegals.
And to think the federal government has Sheriff Joe on trial in Maricopa County AZ for arresting lawbreakers. Senator Barry Goldwater is turning in his grave at the spineless politicians from the state of AZ.
Supreme Court Justices who believe that the Constitution means what it says. Win!
Enforcing the rule of law and deporting all illegals. Win!
The only remaining top priority (besides 3-4 more SCOTUS appointments and 11 million more deportations) is repeal Obamacare. Im okay with President Trump dismantling Obamacare by executive order if Congress wont do what they were elected to do. Then once Obamacare is ineffective, even the RINOs will do their job and repeal that terrible law.
Not quite a complete list. We must add: Cutting income taxes and corporate taxes and large amounts of regulation, to unleash the American economy... restoring our alliances and our opposition to the forces of Evil in the world, and backing it up with a military which is not handcuffed by insane ROEs... and finally Draining the Swamp, by running against the enemedia, running against the lobbyists entrenched in DC, and running against entrenched Republicans in their primaries this year and next year.
We need to put a moratorium on all immigration for at least 25 years, to allow those already here to assimilate. Fifty years would be even better.
+1
I guess this insures that those who have committed crimes but who are using fake identity get swept up too... double winning.
In this upside down world a government agency actually doing it’s job is controversial.
I guess K Street will have to up the "contribution" money. Don't you hate it when politicians don't stay bought.
Why would they self-deport? What are the risks of them actually getting caught at this point when there's so many of them?
If anything, they'll be more careful and when finally caught they'll just have a free ride home on the American Taxpayer. One last "freebie" from us I guess.
We want a wall!!
Make it YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE!!!
