It's slooooow AND I'm getting ‘options’ messages like I get when there's ads on pages... I haven't pressed “Temporarily allow all this page’ yet - - but I'm considering it.

It took 10 minutes for me just to reply. THAT is crazy slow. How come Freep always has issues?

Yes it’s very slow again, and I have a 100m connection.
I can go to other web sites, google, yahoo, etc.. and they come right up in 1 second. So it’s not my connection. Free Republic today is taking about 2 minutes to load.
I did a trace route. I think the problem is the Routing to Free Republic’s web site. The Administrator on this website needs to contact the Web site manager and the traffic rerouted to Free Republic. The Routers Freepers are currently going through are most likely very heavy traffic on them.
It’s not all of them, but just 2 or 3 of the Hops (aka Routers).

It’s been boggy for days - at least for me.
Actually, it’s been dragging for years, but I’ve just grown accustomed to the jalopy performance. I remember when this site ran like a Shelby Cobra.

Able to park it, but slower than molasses in January.
Mitch the turtle would be faster. Not complaining! Only answering a question.

Ditto Tom that’s exactly when the problem started- and it hasn’t been fixed since then- last election- it happened right after the server went down- before then FR was very responsive- fast- after that i have to refresh several times to get a page to load the comments- and even then sometimes only a portion of them load- I guess that’s the new norm here- Yup- cut my page results down to 20- didn’t help much

I click, then I go play a hand of hearts or freecell.
Go back, read, click, and then back to freecell.

I guess it’s slow depending how many people are on it. When it’s just chugging along trying load I just go to other sites on my tabs and come back later.
