You and I have both done that, as we have watched where somewhere in the world a certain group of people were rounded up and exterminated.
And most of the time, we do nothing.
Unfortunately, that's not always the case. I've got cousins who live in Jerusalem, they've been there for nealy 20 years now, and though they're observant Jews, they're politically very liberal.

Religious Jews do vote on the right. Even Dennis Prager style Jews, non orthodox but practicing, do vote with common sense and a love for Israel.
The mass of liberal Jews are kept on the plantation of the left just like most blacks and Hispanics. They are normal liberals so automatically overeducated and extremely gullible. And if any of them get aware or woke, their spouse, friends, family will SHAME them right back to at least outwardly voting and opening Left.
It is extremely socially difficult to buck the shame machine of the clannish tribe. Whether African American, Jewish, or Latino these days. THAT is the real reason that in 2017 most Jews lean left. Ignorance and fear of shame.
I have been there. I am not popular, just barely tolerated, in my extended family. Even those who really love me can be harsh. They see my straying from what is in their eyes The Only Way to Think as some form of insanity. They are very accepting to the relatives coming out as gay, or the ones who have drug abuse problems. NOT TO ME. Thus is it very difficult and most people can’t handle it.

Jews migrate toward urban areas, because they are liberal, not the reverse.
It suggests they are more group thinkers, and less individual, as a suburban or rural mindset. They are feel safer depending on social assistance, instead of live and let live.
You are right about this but there is a parable about helping your neighbor that points out something else.
Your neighbor is pulling a wagon by your house and the wheel breaks. Are you obliged to help him with the fix, which requires unloading the wagon and removing the wheel? Yes.
To what extent are you required to help? Answer, if he stops to take a break, your obligation to help is stopped as well, until he returns to the task. In other words, you are not obligated to fix the wagon for him.
Many Jews do not understand that altruism has this limit, and welfare should only be supported to the extent that the receiver also works to whatever extent that they can.

Open to interpretation, but the Torah is authoritarian, same as leftist democrats. So Jews are more comfortable with State power. Jews vote democrat.
MOST Jews who have abandoned TORAH/ISRAEL/NATION/PEOPLEHOOD and supplanted it with the sacred word “Justice” uphold the edifice of “I love humanity down to the dirt under their toenails and will sacrifice myself on this alter, just don't call me “clannish”, racist or bigoted. This exaggerated caring for all peoples uber alles always means that Jews are in the forefront of social change, whether it be inventing Psychoanalysis, the Russian Revolution or the invention of the Theory of Relativity and the A-Bomb.
They are assimilated and ignorant Jews. They champion all causes except their own survival and will bend over backwards to the rest of the planet just to be loved and accepted.
They will say, “Oh, I'm not THAT kind of Jew”, meaning either being associated with a Zionist or a Torah-observing Jew, i.e., religious. This form of apology has existed forever.
Jews who embrace this humanity hug-fest even at their own expense, cannot help themselves because they suffer from a disease called “TLH”, or Terminal Liberal Hemorrhoids and there is no ointment for this problem save, being Jewish, being proud and or being a Zionist.
So while they overwhelmingly supported Obama and Hillary, there are still many Jews like myself who are Conservative, patriotic and Zionist.
In urban centers, there is clearly an element ofStockholm Syndrome..
That and there are plenty of communist JINOs in media who will slam the Conservatives in the country slandering their character as racists or NAZIs because the country folk stand against communism and socialism.
My point was that they SHOULD vote differently than their cohort. Or better yet, change cohorts! Move somewhere traditional American values are still accepted, where America, Judeo-Christian Values and Family are honored, not spit upon. I speak from experience.....my beliefs no longer align with my cohort, and have not for a decade or two. I already vote very differently from them, and I will soon be able to leave that cohort and join a cohort which does align with my belief system. I think everyone has a responsibility to to at least try to do that.
No conspiracy, just an observation of friends and people I have worked for, that’s all.
For the reasons aforesaid, I wouldn’t be a Demonrat if I was as disgusted by the Holocaust as you say Jews are.
