President Donald Trump confirmed during his Iowa rally Wednesday that he is considering building a border wall with solar panels.
A source told The Daily Caller earlier this month that Trump raised the idea of solar panels during a meeting with congressional leaders. (RELATED: Trump Proposed Solar Panel Covered Border Wall)
During Wednesdays rally, Trump promised his supporters that he was still going to build a wall on the southern border to prevent illegal immigration and drug peddling.
And yes, we will build the wall, he said. Weve already started planningit will be built.
And Ill give you an idea that nobody has heard about yet, Trump teased. Were talking about the southern border. Lots of sun, lots of heat. Were thinking about building the wall as a solar wall.
Trump argued the energy created by the solar panels could help the wall pay for itself

That makes sense to you and I, but the libs would explode and the media would back them up. Not to mention many judges.
——If they refuse to pay, confiscate their assets, and put those new 15000 IRS employees to good use.——
Probably a silly question, but how does the US government legally seize a foreign government assets to pay a bill for something they didn’t build or own and what does 15,000 IRS employees have to do with it? They have no jurisdiction in Mexico.
Intermittent surveillance power.
Aliens would cross the wall at night.
“Probably a silly question, but how does the US government legally seize a foreign government assets”
Mexico doesn’t own property here?
Bank of Mexico doesn’t buy US Treasuries?
Plenty of Mexican assets here, and plenty of IRS agents to harass Mexico (and leave us alone) for decades.
I’m not sure bullets will be needed.
The wall will be built.
The Democrats love to talk about political capital.
I think they have expended theirs.
Maybe they can steal more from California, but I doubt it.
Otherwise, powering The Wall as a single source would require electricity in the > 100kv range, which is too high to embed inside over the great distance.
I think the energy is for use on OUR side of the border.
First of all, it is not intermittent.
Secondly, you determine the reach of your power along the wall and cut it in half.
Energy can be stored and is everywhere.
How long until pissed off Mexicans smash the Solar panels?
One day?
I say still make Mexico pay for the wall. If we create energy with it then great that’s a bonus for US.
It would be a series of small systems that feed the wall
needed for surveillance power. They would be 3000 feet away from the wall. Thats all.
This can work.
That’s the point. You keep them out of reach.
Nobody is getting this.
Put signs up climb the wall at your own risk! So in other words HELL NO! The US should not be liable if an illegal gets hurt trying to invade this country.
Electrical power is never stored.
Batteries are expensive, and impractical for power. The Billion dollar cost of a Wall, would rise to a $Trillion. But Dems would love that if it created union make work jobs.
Natural gas power fills in the intermittencies, thus defeating solar, unless for Dem feel good reasons.
I’ve always liked the idea of an electrified border to keep out the varmints, and by varmints I mean illegals! Heck today I just bought one of those battery powered electric fly swatters from Harbor Freight. Good fun killing mosquitos and the electrified fence would do the same on a much larger scale.
Maybe it will be MS-13 coming to smash downtown areas after they smash the panels.
Grow-Up.
A clean, green,eco-friendly and sustainable wall, for the children.
Wait, if it’s our wall why are we supposed to be giving Mexico free energy. If they want electricity, have them pay for it. It’s our wall not theirs.
I’ve been saying this since the late 90s.
