No man is an island. But, clearly Hawaiians haven’t figured out they are on an island, and can be stranded. No one in business of any kind bases their relationships on politics- it may parallel their dealings but shouldn’t have to. Except in a political oligarchy or one party. Dictatorship.

no joke, yeah? Maybe we could remind Hawaii that if they don't want to be part of the USA, there are three other nations more than happy to take them over, violently if necessary and likely probably. Japan and China have a large citizenry there. Russia would love a tropical vacationspot for their generals. And none of the three give a hotdamn about 'natives'.
