I think they are an experiment to show how easy it is to dupe people about something that should be pretty cast in concrete.

In my early days here, there was another poster here (Michael Rivero) who used to push the craziest hoaxes.

Part of his arguments was, "look at how many people believe me".

So, I posted a few threads to show how easy it was to pull folks in.

It is really, really easy. Examples:

3 killed in N.J. plane crash

I read 17 posts into the first one. After a couple of your posts, I was thinking you have got to be being sarcastic. Fortunately I was right.:)
