Social justice activist, Teen Vogue contributor, and self-described "Desi-Kenyan Feminist" Lara Witt declared on Saturday that "white people are evil" and "whiteness is evil." Her claims came on Twitter and follow a number of racially charged tweets that Witt has authored.
Ms. Witt's "white people are evil" tweet came after she posted an article to the Guardian, which detailed a young woman whose mother told her she was white, despite the fact that she was African American.
"My take away from this," Ms. Witt wrote, "white people are so used to being the neutral, the default that they would deny their own child the truth."
She then continued:
This follows a number of racially-charged comments on Twitter, in which Ms. Witt wrote about people who are bi-racial, being a "pain dumpster" for white women, and wishing for a "whiteness-free zone" to relax:
I am mostly of English ancestry with some Irish, Scots, German, and tiny bit Italian. If “other” or “mixed race” or “miltiracial” is a choice I always check it. If anyone ever challenges it I will accuse THEM of racism.
But Haiti is so much closer.

Because they grow up in the white home fine until they get to about middle school where they are exposed to blacks who call them uncle toms and house n——rs and demand they say and do things to prove their blackness. Then they start to get hostile toward their white family, and it’s all downhill from there. Tragic, really.

I'm not sure that's actually something to be proud of.
You don't get much whiter than Conde Nast or Si Newhouse or Anna Wintour.
The current editor of Teen Vogue is half-Black (and half-White) so she's taken the magazine in a different direction.
She's already gotten into trouble for using a very light-skinned model (half-White half-Fijian) in a story about black hair styles (originating in Africa).
She said she shouldn't have used a light-skinned model, but I don't think she ever admitted that her model wasn't any part Black (African).
I would have suspected that Lara Witt's outbursts have a lot to do with her own conflicted feelings about her parents.
But maybe she's just a jerk. She has a pattern of chiding other people for saying things that she goes on to tweet herself.

A lot of Nigerians are sending us letters about needing money. And they do need the money. White women owe you nothing, Lara Witt, however white medicine might help you if you have an eating disorder. Who was fat and white and disliked you for your beautiful skin? You are very thin according to most standards.
You know that Indians from India or anyplace else in the world are still India Indians and are Aryans???right???. You are a petulant entitled white girl, sweetie, and nothing can take that away from you. You are special.
