We used to speak of an extended adolescence. Now it's an extended pre-adolescence where college students throw temper tantrums, kicking and screaming on the floor and their adult supervision rushes to appease them by giving them their way.

These are people who will be singularly unsuited for the real world when things get a little tough. You want to know something else that's "triggering"? Bill collectors. Good luck with your tantrums when they come calling.
