Taxation destroys

Sure enough...

But, alcohol kills people, including the users and their victims. Alcohol is also very expensive for those who have to pony up to pay the bills incurred by the user and the victims. So, while taxes can be expensive, the "taxes" being paid at the back end can be a lot more expensive, for victims and users and for those not directly involved, since, they too will be paying for the bills and other expenses associated with alcohol and drugs, etc.

It's like the old saying goes: "pay me now, or pay me later".

Sometimes, what you don't see directly can be a lot more expensive in the end.

Get used to it, since you'll be paying, no matter if by taxes or by government spending or by bigger bills at the doctor or hospital or via your medical insurance premium. So, why would you want to pay for someone else's bad habits?

Twisted.

Taxation destroys. Therefore more taxation is better.
Not!

Does not follow. That is the powerful desire for a free lunch.

Many alcoholics get better NOT by medicine or AA, but because they eventually grow out of the disease.
Victims of alcoholics can simply work, buy insurance to protect themselves.

Taxing cigarettes and alcohol destroys people, but makes do-gooders like yourself feel good about it. It robs help from victims, and makes you feel good about hurting others.

And that hurts children. I can never understand how folks can want to hurt children.
