‘This is Nixon/Watergate’: Trump Accuses Obama Of Wire Tapping Trump Tower Before Election

President Trump exploded on Twitter early Saturday morning, blasting former President Barack Obama for allegedly wire tapping his phones before the election.

“Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!” he declared.

“Is it legal for a sitting President to be ‘wire tapping’ a race for president prior to an election? Turned down by court earlier. A NEW LOW!” he added.

Trump has the authority to declassify almost any classified material, and could substantiate his accusations if he wanted to.

The Saturday-morning Twitter storm was striking as Trump and Obama had largely appeared to paper over their differences — at least publicly — since the election.

Clearly the media is actually a working part of this conspiracy.

For crying out loud, if they were going to leak debate questions to Clinton, and have direct collusion with television programs favoring dems, surely the media such as Compost, NYT and CNN are actively engaged and on the payroll. And I’ll bet it goes well beyond those 3.

So, the real question is, what’s the next move? At some point, doesn’t a hammer come out??

Because what we have here has been shown by new evidence to be not a legitimate surveillance in pursuit of national security, but dirty tricks? If there was nothing damaging produced by the surveillance at Trump Tower, is this a case of no harm to Trump and therefore no foul committed by Obama?

We don't know what was produced nor do we know if the IC exceeded the limitations of the FISA warrant. We do know that there have been orchestrated leaks of Flynn's conversations with the Russians and the telephone conversations Trump has had with world leaders.

The Democrats don't need any evidence to call for the impeachment of Trump and the prosecution of Sessions for perjury. They are calling for the assignment of a Special Prosecutor regardless of what the investigations by the FBI and others show.

Trump needs to declassify the FISA warrant requests showing what authority was requested, especially the first one that was turned down by the court.

Trump is justifiably upset by these chain of events. He is an early riser. Today also happens to be the day of pro-Trump rallies scheduled throughout the country. I assume this new news will increase attendance and enthusiasm.

Is Trump in possession of new facts which are unknown to us?

Definitely.

I agree completely.

I just saw a video clip of Lindsay Graham saying that surveillance with a warrant is even more troubling than surveillance without a warrant. I am not sure that is true, but it does raise interesting questions about how the FISA court operates.

Today at 4:00 PM is a big National Security Council meeting (that’s been on the public schedule) at Mar a Lago. This means that most likely Trump’s top spooks were probably at Mar a Lago last night. They probably had a late night meeting and shared conclusions of what they’ve been digging up recently. Today’s meeting may formalize some of the accusations to set the stage to go forward.

Does President Trump have the authority to unseal all of Obama’s records?

That is a good question. It may depend on what records as some may fall under the privacy act. John Kerry when he ran for president would not authorize the release of about 100 pages of his military personal records held by the Pentagon.

FISA routinely grants government requests for surveillance. In 2014, 99.7% of all FISA warrant requests were approved.

It is actually remarkable the one in June was denied. I would bet Obama pulled out the stops trying to get the October warrant approved.

Hemp needs to come back in style. Clothing made from hemp is said to be long lasting.

I wonder if we will be able to grow it now that recreational pot is legal in many states?

The issuance on the second warrant attempt raises an interesting question. Where did the administration get its facts that would justify a warrant? Evidently, those facts were faulty because the subsequent surveillance produced no damning evidence. That calls into question the quality of the probable cause that led to the granting of the warrant to surveil, how was it obtained? Were dirty tricks involved?

The article which presents the timeline suggested only Trump's computer was eavesdropped upon but Trump's tweets seem to indicate that his phones were tapped. Were his phones tapped without a warrant? Was the warrant broader than we have been led to understand? If so, that is a pretty broad warrant for someone running to be president of the United States.

We know that Obama weaponized the IRS against political opponents. He had reporters he deemed unfriendly wiretapped (as well as their parents). This is a man who embraced the surveillance state not national security, but for his own personal political ambitions and to destroy his political opposition.

It takes little imagination to see him taking that warrant from FISA and stretching it beyond ethical and legal boundaries. I would bet on it.

Obama was also a candidate who exposed sealed court records (twice I think) against an opponent to win an election.

He is truly an acolyte of Saul ALinsky.

The attack on Sessions is a CNN operation.

The day prior to Sessions confirmation hearing CNN began hyping a Buzzfeed article which contained long known unsubstantiated allegations. After being advertised for hours by CNN Buzzfeed published a “dossier”. During the confirmation hearing Franken references CNN’s breaking report of this dossier. Then when reporting on the confirmation hearing CNN edits out most of Franken’s question to make it appear that Sessions answered a different question than what Franken asked. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=otYVn2bW17g

CNN drove the Buzzfeed garbage to prominent attention. This created the dynamics necessary to generate exploitable situations. Franken’s question is such a situation and CNN’s dishonest editing is the exploit.

This is one battle in the attack on Trump by CNN/WaPo/NYT/DNC.

We know from Wikileaks that there is close coordination between the MSM and the DNC. The MSM is the propaganda arm of the DNC. CNN was just following orders.

Where did the Obama administration get its facts to justify a federal warrant? How was it obtained? Were dirty tricks involved? Evidently, the facts presented were faulty because the surveillance produced no damning evidence. That calls into question Obama's presentation of a probable cause to conduct surveillance on a presidential candidate.

Good points......Obama and his factotums may have falsified the official request for surveillance. Keep in mind, falsifying official govt documents is the criminal MO to cover-up larger crimes.

=============================================

We already have some serious charges: (a) a prior administration – Barack Obama and his surrogates – (b) supporting Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party, (c) using tax-paid US intelligence resources, (d) to surveil members of the Trump campaign, and, (e) to put that information out into the public. (hat tip Mark Levin)

Adding falsification of documents could place the Obama cabal in a strait jacket of legal jeopardy.

Hillary cannot be excluded....b/c a prime reason for obtaining the secret intel on her opposition was to feed it to her campaign.
