For a few days, Project Veritas founder and conservative activist James O'Keefe has been hyping the release of what he said were hundreds of hours of undercover audio recordings of employees at CNN.
Some staffers at CNN were legitimately alarmed that O'Keefe would be releasing tapes that could be embarrassing for the network. O'Keefe is known for his undercover video recordings, though questions over deceptive editing and concerns about the questionable tactics used to obtain those recordings have plagued some of his prior work. Before releasing the tapes Thursday, O'Keefe was featured on The Drudge Report and on Sean Hannity's radio show, where he previewed their release.
Instead, what O'Keefe released on Thursday landed with a dull thud in the media world. Though not all the hours of tapes have been made available for review, and damning recordings could still come out, O'Keefe made clear the audio he obtained is from 2009 and for the most part features lower-level staffers at the network.

It’s going to take a brave soul to “binge” on 100 hours of CNN.
Politico = Fake news = democrat propaganda = bull dung.
“Its going to take a brave soul to binge on 100 hours of CNN.”
Just play the videos at the airport. :)
It may be too early to say for certain, but there’s something wrong with O’Keefe. He does this every time, maybe it’s ego or maybe he’s a lttle nuts, but it’s as if his mother never read him the story about the “Boy Who Cried Wolf”.
Over-hyping and under-delivering is going to put him in the Glenn Beck league real quick.
Face it CNN is boring ,yawn
Haven’t heard a thing, and I’m not going to jump to conclusions like the media.
Typical. It “doesn’t exist”.
If you are correct, O’Keefe misrepresented what he was going to do.

Today is 2/23/17.
Too long ago. I feel punked.
No, the problem is he didn’t promote it as a crowd-sourced science project he hyped it up without knowing what was in it. Tweets last night were “It’s the beginning of the end for CNN” and crap like that - then we get a “Oh gee, we don’t have the resources to know what’s in there so have fun”.
He bullshitted us. Again.
100 hours, if O’Keefe listened to an hour a day and two hours per day on weekends, he’d have personally reviewed them all in three months.
A pretty big flop.
I was underwhelmed too. Problem is the media has become so corrupt that the public has become numb to all but the most egregious left-wing news shaping.
I’d have loved to hear some tape on Donna Brazille or a strategy room session with marching orders to downplay F&F, IRS, Benghazi, or back-slapping Candy Crowley after the debate, etc. You know they did it, but does he have anything like on tape? Maybe, but the idea that he basically left it up to his viewers to crowd-source it is kind of discouraging.
He damaged his brand again. Just release the stuff without the hype! If there are some nuggets, they will go viral. Now everyone sees a big nothingburger again.
People on various websites just got the tapes and are just starting to look into them.
Give them a few days. The wikileaks stuff on Podesta took a few months.
Says Politico....
O’Keefe should know by now that (i) lots of hype (ii) without delivering the goods = (iii) loss of credibility.
There was nothing to Benghazi either - at least according to politico.
O’Keefe should know by now that we want red meat and if he has some on CNN, throw us a bone - at least!!! Don’t put anything out that everyone is salivating for and have it fall flat - geeze! Surprised that O’Keefe didn’t know better.
Color me very disappointed.
He always stages the releases...gives the media something to react to first. More to come for sure.
