WASHINGTON -- Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) told reporters on Capitol Hill today that he's "been pretty candid" with President Trump "and with all of you that I'm not a great fan of daily tweets."
"What I am a fan of is what he's been actually doing," he added. "As I look at what we might have expected from a President Mitt Romney or a President Marco Rubio or a President Jeb Bush at the beginning of their tenures in office, I can't see much difference between what President Trump is doing and what they would have done."

Yertle is delusional.
Or he is an agent of the Uniparty spreading propaganda.
Nice spin, treebob
Yeb accomplishing anything would be hard to believe.
Nice try, Mac but even your own wife wouldn’t buy that bullshit.
Preach it sister. Your post is 100% spot on!
Scary that the leader of the Senate is so far out of touch.
No one else would work like President Trump. I would not vote for a never Trumper globalist.
Aw, c’mon, down’t hold back, tell us how you REALLY feel....
Retire Mitch!!! NOW!!! What a completely disconnected a-hole.
At this point in time, Jebbers would still be unpacking and rearranging his socks upstairs at the White House.
Low energy Jeb is only outdone by the even lower energy Yertle, shuffling around in the bowels and colon of the senate as if he’s important...
I feel the same about Trump. But this is not a one man job and he is going to go to war with the army that he has.
McCain and his type are going to be part of the obstructionists.
The guy is clueless.
The lies keep coming from the uniparty leadership.
“Jeb would have accomplished NOTHING.”
Nothing for OUR SIDE, true, but Jeb would have found ‘common ground’ with many Democrats to ‘move legislation’.
It would have been HORRIBLE.
“I can’t see much difference between what President Trump is doing and what they would have done.”
Actually I think he’s trying to RELATE to us by saying the above, but he’s so detached that he cannot even comprehend how we view such a statement.
He’s basically saying that Trump hasn’t really done much more than any other ‘conservative’ would have done in the same time frame (to him, having an “R” next to your name means you’re a conservative), but the left is making it out to look like the end of the world...and I would somewhat agree - Trump has done very little so far (although only a month in), but Trump has set the groundwork for great things to come.
President Trump has taken more concrete action in his first month than previous Republican Presidents have accomplished or jawboned in their entire administrations with the exception of Ronald Reagan. And, if even a majority of his initiatives get through Congressional approval he’ll exceed Reagan.
McConnell is being deceptive. It’s BS. There is not another Republican who would have gone in so aggressively, not even Cruz, who waited for Trump to take the lead and the potential flak before he jumped in and behaved as if he’d supported it all along.
These others, they’re all afraid of the press and they’re all afraid of being called various forms of “-ist” except for Trump. They’d have been hamstrung and rendered ineffectual just as W was hamstrung.
Strictly speaking he's not telling the truth.
Jeb and Trump have little in common.
But what McConnell is doing is saying to Washington DC that Trump isn't the Antichrist, but a Republican president like others who went before.
That's my interpretation anyway. At a time when some are talking impeachment or revolution or coup d'etat what he's doing isn't necessarily a bad thing.
Can’t argue that - I was only saying that the best is yet to come with Trump - something that I’m sure agree with also.
He’s whistling in the dark..
