DUBAI (Reuters) - Qatar Airways advised passengers bound for the United States on Saturday from seven newly banned majority Muslim countries that they needed to have either a U.S. green card or diplomatic visa.
"Nationals of the following countries: Sudan, Libya, Somalia, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Yemen ... may travel to the U.S. only if they are in possession of a permanent resident card (Green card) or any of the below visas," it said in a statement on its website.
It listed foreign government, United Nations, international organization and NATO visas.

Good start, but disappointing that Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Afghanistan are apparently fine.
Hubby puts forth the hypothesis that the Saudis and Pakistanis tightly control who comes in and out of their countries, in addition to being “important allies.” He thinks it is likely that the US military oversees or controls the Iraq international flights. So, those governments would take the blame for any bad actors entering the U.S.

...and we need to get rid of chain migration. Currently if one guy manages to get in then he can legally bring in his entire home village from Bumfukistan. This has to stop.
Many other countries allow immigrants only if they can show they will be a benefit to the new country.

MY guess is because we still have American citizens, soldiers and families in those countries. Other than that I don’t think I’d make the mistake that our real American Presidency and administrations suffers under the delusion that Islam is not a pervasive problem worldwide.
