Nikki Haley on Wednesday became the latest Donald Trump Cabinet nominee to break with him on how to deal with Russia — to a degree, anyway.
The South Carolina governor told senators reviewing her nomination for U.S. ambassador to the United Nations that the United States must push back against Russia's attempts to flex its muscles in places such as Ukraine and Syria, as well as its alleged interference in the U.S. election process.
Russia was one of several areas with which the governor put daylight between herself and the president-elect on Wednesday — at one point, she indirectly chided Trump for speaking dismissively of German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
On Russia, Haley said, “I don’t think that we can trust them.”

Syria has voluntarily been a Russian client state for my entire adult life.
The Crimea has been Russia’s Black Sea port since the 1700’s.
Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czech, etc. did not go inside the Russian orbit by choice at any point that I recall.

The Lying Leftist Media presumably lies. IMO that means the default is a presumption of lies when you see what they’ve written. The presumption can only be rebutted by their offering clear and convincing evidence they are telling the truth. The best aspect of her appointment was her exit from the office of governor in SC. She will be replaced by Henry McMaster who I like a lot more. As Ambassador the UN, her career in elective politics is probably over - not a bad thing. I’m sure Trump can handle her “independence”.

I was under the impression that initially, she wasn’t supportive of his candidacy for president. So, when he chose her for a fed. gov. position, I was very surprised to learn he’d chosen her.
I do agree though...don’t believe anything until verified by a reliable source.
I think many freepers are not seeing what Trump is doing here. Strategery mixed with “Art of the Deal”. Both in how he has come at NATO and the UN, and with how he is softhandling the Russians. The man is no fool.
Once UN Ambassador she will only have the opportunity to go rogue on Trump one time. Trump calls the shots, she delivers.
