Reality Check: Is #Pizzagate "Fake News" or Has It Just Not Been Officially Investigated?
“That no victims have yet been discovered is not proof of anything.”
It’s certainly proof that there is no proof of a crime.
You see, that is how real investigations are supposed to work. Before you accuse people of crimes, you first have to establish an actual crime was committed. Instead, “pizzagate” theorists have decided to put the cart before the horse and accuse people before they even have evidence that any crimes were committed.
“There may very well be victims that are currently hidden to us.”
Sure, and Santa Claus may exist, but I am not going to believe that either without evidence.
Everything you wrote is 100% accurate. This Pizzagate story is so ridiculous that I am convinced it’s a setup to make us on the right look like idiots if we buy it. I am hoping the freepers who seem to believe it’s genuine are trolls because I cannot believe anyone who has REALLY read all about it, as you have, would do anything but laugh at it.
are you new here?
This is not insipid or stupid.
It is an extremely odd story, there is SOMETHING behind it, and it is very unusual that it is NOT being investigated.
I felt the same way about Sandusky and the child rape charges from Pennsylvania. There was too much there that we KNOW to be true, and yet little outrage... as if those in the know don’t want to pursue it further.
You would think child rape would be explosive. But so little interest after the one was charged.
The police generally ignore things when there is no evidence a crime has been committed. If they did otherwise, we’d be accusing them of wasting taxpayer dollars.
Pizzagate is fake news...
Pizza-Ped.
Sorry, I don’t watch videos while I’m at work.
The ‘victims’ seem to be on an Island. For all the stories about “pedophile island” there seems to be little desire to investigate it.
All we know is that known pedophile was there and Bill Clinton visited it 27 times... so, no big deal??????
“Umm, yes they are.”
Really? Well, nobody disputes they exist, so I guess the pizzagate folks can fold up their tents and go home. Mission accomplished, we all agree that Podesta and Comet Pizza exist.
If they killed Petersen, what do you think they would do to get innocent children to keep quiet?
“Dont you realize that just underscores my point?”
You point seems to be we should ignore this. Just like we ignored boys complaining that priests had molested them.
For decades we ignored this. Fake News right? Until it wasn’t.
Smh. My link is to an Atlanta-based reporter’s presentation of the evidence re Pzzagate. You can’t watch the video, so you go into your obnoxious routine instead.
Get back to me after you’ve seen the report.
“The victims seem to be on an Island. For all the stories about pedophile island there seems to be little desire to investigate it.”
The Epstein case (which is a different case from “pizzagate” despite people trying to link them) has already been investigated. You can’t glom on to that case and use its supposed victims to cover the distinct lack of victims in this case.
Well, I suppose you can try, and obviously some people are gullible enough to fall for it, but I think most people won’t.
Neither would be a bloodstain on the floor, but taken with other details, it starts to build a picture that perhaps a crime might have been committed.
You are dismissing details that possibly point in the direction of a crime, but none of which by themselves are sufficient to meet the threshold of "proof."
In the movie "12 Angry men", Henry Fonda carefully picks apart each piece of evidence that indicates the accused committed the crime. The best criticism of his argument of which I have seen is to point out that each piece of evidence could individually be dismissed as a fluke or a coincidence, but taken in summation, it beggars credibility to believe in so many coincidences all occurred simultaneously.
Such too is it with this "Pizzagate" stuff. There are a lot of coincidences/oddities which would have to be brushed aside in order for this to be benign.
“If they killed Petersen”
Well, we don’t even know if anyone killed Petersen actually. You might want to establish there actually was a murder before accusing specific people of a murder that may or may not have happened, but this seems par for the course with pizzagate fans.
“what do you think they would do to get innocent children to keep quiet?”
What innocent children? So far nobody has named a single child, innocent or otherwise, that these people are supposed to have victimized.
“You point seems to be we should ignore this. Just like we ignored boys complaining that priests had molested them.”
Well, nobody is actually complaining that anyone has molested them in this case. That’s really what my point is. People can conclude for themselves what should be done once they are apprised of that fact, I think.
I haven't made up my mind about "Pizzagate" one way or the other. If no new information emerges regarding it, I will chalk it up to being a big nothing, but I admit the possibility that there may be further developments.
The most rational approach to this thing is to say "I don't know, but it sorta smells funny."
ping
She certainly was no victim. Just a silly game right? Or perhaps you believe some idiot rightwinger staged this to make poor Podesta look bad.
Which gets you exactly nowhere. We don't commit state resources to investigate people because "perhaps a crime might have been committed". We investigate when we have probable cause that a crime has been committed.
"You are dismissing details that possibly point in the direction of a crime, but none of which by themselves are sufficient to meet the threshold of "proof.""
I don't dismiss them, but even taken altogether, they do not even begin to approach "probable cause". If you took the entire mass of "pizzagate" speculation to the most sympathetic judge in the country, you would not be able to get a warrant. All the internet forum hystrionics in the world won't change that. Some actual evidence of a crime might, but so far the pizzagate theorists are still coming up short in that department.
Do you even know that child’s name? (it is public knowledge btw)
Are you asserting that child, or their parents/guardians have made allegations of abuse?
If not, then what exactly are you asserting? That you don’t like the looks of a photo?
