Space exploration is for advanced societies that value science and engineering. The USA has devolved into a race conscious social experiment and doesn't care one wit about space exploration. Sad.
Not to mention 30 years of globalization has left the USA de industrialized and weak.

No, we need to terraform Mars.
We need to push several icy comets into Mars, to increase it’s water content and mass.
Then we need to seed the planet with life.
All of those can be unmanned missions.

I get your perspective however it pays for itself in the long run.

it pays for itself in the long run.So sell bonds ... don't steal my money to 'invest' it.

I submit that getting to Mars is not as important as destroying Islam.
To: rlbedfor
Constructing a moon base would be more practical. Mars is a distant dream. Have the moon base built by robots and use it as an incubator for the robot industry.

Space exploration is for advanced societies that value science and engineering. And don't value the taxpayers' right to keep what they earn.
Or are you advocating privately financed space exploration? I'm all for that.

I think the first item would be to remove the
Prime Directive that was given to NASA by Barry the Boy King that would use NASA as the source for Muslim outreach. Once that is out of the way, NASA can get back to other cool stuff.

I wish he would have announced that during the campaign
He could have stated that NASA ‘s mission would be changed back from ‘muzzie outreach’ to space exploration, with a planned mission to Mars within 10 years (like Kennedy did)

A Mars colony could never be self-sustaining. We’d be on the hook for billions if not trillions of dollars per year to support it.
