Does your wife yell, scream, and swear at you? Do you feel like you can’t talk to anyone about your relationship because they just wouldn’t understand? Is your relationship making you feel like you’re slowly going crazy?
If so, you’re probably involved with a woman who is an emotionally abusive bully. Most men don’t want to admit that they’re in an abusive relationship. They describe the relationship and their wife using other terms like crazy, emotional, controlling, bossy, domineering, constant conflict, or volatile. If you use words like this to describe your relationship, odds are you’re being emotionally abused.
Do you recognize any of the following behaviors?
1) Bullying. If she doesn’t get her way, there’s hell to pay. She wants to control you and resorts to emotional intimidation to do it. She uses verbal assaults and threats in order to get you to do what she wants. It makes her feel powerful to make you feel bad. People with a Narcissistic personality are often bullies.
Result: You lose your self-respect and feel outnumbered, sad, and alone. You develop a case of Stockholm Syndrome, in which you identify with the aggressor and actually defend her behavior to others.
2) Unreasonable expectations. No matter how hard you try and how much you give, it’s never enough. She expects you to drop whatever you’re doing and attend to her needs...

I know a couple with a wife like that and that was just reading the first point.
And he’s a really nice guy.
I don’t get how women like that hook men like him or why they go with it.
Although, he was raised in a really abusive home and while it may feel normal for him to be in a relationship like that, it is not normal.

I love my wife dearly, but she's the kind of person who has to drive home a point or lesson several times (or more)...drives my kids crazy...lol
I know where that came from, my MIL and FIL raised 10 kids. I come from a much smaller family.

Advice I give to young men (more):
When you are dating you are auditioning a mother for your children.
Bars and night clubs are bad places to look for a good woman.
Watch how she interacts with her family members.
Pay attention to how she treats waiters, busboys, etc.
Don’t assume the reason she chooses you over her ex (for now!) is because you are so special.
If she bad-mouths people (especially her ex!) she will someday bad-mouth YOU.
The behavior she exhibits now will not improve once you are married.

That is a sad thing. I am glad that you are with the love of your life now. I’m amazed at what hell we sometimes have to go through to find our little bit of heaven here on earth.

If she hesitates even a second when asked marital status she’s probably going to lie.
Found this out the hard way.

funny, the ex-person, in my life gave me an ultimatum just before Christmas “If we can’t get along, we shouldn’t even try to hang out as friends”
I laughed and told her abuse of the last 6 years was intolerable and I even know the day it started. So, whatever cracked in you is your issue and you should cancel your subscription.
But, what timing. I was just thinking the same thing.

Haven’t called in two weeks and have zero intention of calling.
I tossed everything I ever collected in 25 years. I left with only the clothes on my back.
Both my dogs have now passed, as of a few months ago and there really are no artifacts, no evidence of our existence any more and I see no reason to go down this tired and well trodden road.
I have done more than 95% of people do and there is still more left.
I want to go ice caving and bungee jump off the highest man made object in Sydney, Australia.
I’ve survived two doctors trying to kill me and her. What could go wrong.

That should have been my first clue.
I never saw someone so convinced of their righteousness viciously go after a family member at a Christmas celebration.
