Looks like 2016 will bracketed with the deaths of David Bowie and George Michael - with Prince and other notables in between. Lot of pop legends died this year.

I believe he had been given the Gospel message, and he lived in a free nation where a Bible could be had for free or only 2 pounds sterling at the local shop.
His sins probably eventually caught up with him.
