On Saturday, we learned that Tim Cook and Sheryl Sandberg were among a handful of tech moguls being summoned to Donald Trumps gilded lair for a mysterious summit this week, but the full roster of invitees remained unknown. Today, The Wall Street Journal added a name to the President-elects guest list: Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk.
The exact purpose of the meeting between some of Americas most successful businesspeople and Donald Trump is still unclear. If Peter Thiels alleged recruitment efforts are any indication, the summit will serve as an opportunity for Silicon Valley leaders to share their ideas with the next President of the United States.
If its like a similar post-election gathering of media organizations at Trump Tower (described by one attendee as a fucking firing squad), however, Musk and company will probably be asked to bow before the American Empires new god-king.
As the Journal notes, Musk potentially has far more at stake than his peers:
SpaceXs single largest customer is the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, which over the past eight years has awarded contracts valued at more than $6.5 billion to deliver cargo and eventually, U.S. astronauts, to the international space station. The company also seeks to win hundreds of millions of dollars of additional contracts from the U.S. Air Force over the next few years.
Tesla benefits from government tax credits that reduce the effective price of its vehicles. The electric car maker recently acquired SolarCity Corp., a company founded by Mr. Musks cousins that installs solar panels, a portion of the cost of which can be offset by federal tax credits.
Even under the best circumstances, however, the summit seems unlikely to be the kind of meeting of minds Silicon Valley Trump supporters like Thiel might be hoping for.
Look, this is obviously a circus, a source told Recode. Everyone in tech just wants to be invisible right now when it comes to this administration, but has to participate since we have done it before.
I wonder what his carbon footprint was.

Accdg to Bloomberg, it’s those obama ass kissers for the past 8 years in Google’s Schmidt and Larry Page. Schmidt was always at the WH licking Obamatard’s boots every week for 8 years.
I wish Trump would tell him to kiss his arse.
I hope all these fuggers are searched for bugs and recording devices I trust no one
elon needs to keep the government donations coming in.

Not a ‘circus’ but more fun!
- Trump/Pence! MAGA!
it’s a little vague...could be the o-ring!
GWB totally shunned the tech industry which I think was a big mistake.
Mr.Trump is effectively our President right now!
He is not wasting time holding parties with movie stars.
SpaceX is really driving down the cost of a rocket launch and that benefits the taxpayer.
Trump need to tell Musk that there is no more milk in the subsidy tit.
Are you referring to the man's travels, or his companies? Every time his company testfires rocket engines, or sends a rocket to space, it's burning a lot of exotic and not-so-exotic chemicals like rubber and aluminum. Can't be good for the environment. But liberals always get a pass, polluting on a massive scale equivalent to thousands of ordinary folks minute carbon footprints.
everyone? EVERYONE?!
screw you, assbag. you screaming faggots are the only ones trying to become invisible.
the rabid left infected the field and pushed the mantra of follow the progressive mantra or get out.
i'd like to see all your companies get flushed
The future Prez has a list of “invitees” who would be sent to Mars, and Musk has the means to get them there in the near future.
Funny, there was a report a couple days ago that SV moguls were all lining up to foil Trump at every turn.
Then, there was another article about how California could enjoy a huge defense build-up business boom that will shadow deporting illegals.
Paraphrasing Milton Friedman, we don’t get good government by filling it with good people. We get good government by making it advantageous for regular people to do good things.
Trump has been meeting with people we never would have expected. If he can demonstrate to them that they can do well by doing good, as the Left puts it, then that is more important than shutting out very smart and accomplished people because they have been on the side of the Democrats.
I, for one, don’t want a civil war in the US. I want a smooth transition and a growing realization among the leftists that they have been duped and that the traditional American way is the right path.
elon needs to keep the government donations coming in
bingo
Doesn’t even mention the BILLION DOLLARS in government “loans” Musk has gotten since Obama took over.
—don’t forget the battery technology freely given to him by the government that was supposed to be classified for military use.
