"Possibly some liberals are NOT stupid, but merely victims of their own propaganda." I was led to liberalism in college ans slowly came to my senses over the years. The takeaway lesson I can attest to is:

I am dumbfounded by my acquaintances who insist on drinking from the same sources that gave then the electoral $hitz in the first place to make themselves feel better about Trump's victory.
