What does it take?
Someone who’s actually DONE it, and survived it.
1. The best gun fight is the one you never got into in the first place.
2. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.
3. You never rise up to the occasion, you fall back to your most basic level of training.
4. Concealed weapons are meant to be felt (by you opponent) not seen.
War is entirely different. Large numbers of men fire guns, mortar shells, and artillery rounds in the general direction of the enemy.
Yeah, and I like the recent Hollywood shoot-em-ups too. You know you're a skilled gunfighter when:
1. Your 15-round magazine regenerates ammunition while it's still in the gun and you get about 35 shots off it;
2. When you hit a guy he flies backwards through the air doing backflips and explodes before he hits the ground;
3. You can personally carry 185 lbs of ammunition under a trench coat without printing;
4. The car you're shooting blows up.
The old Westerns did have a couple of interesting techniques: if you flip the barrel of your gun at the opponent it generates enough extra muzzle velocity to blow his hat off his head. Still working on that one. The problem is finding practice partners who are dumb enough...
Guntalk Media has some interesting videos.

When the trainer with the full helmet told the woman to hit him, I was kinda hoping she’d knee him in the nuts.
Love that illustration. Straight from the movie “Equilibrium”. It was the Matrix before the Matrix was the Matrix.
Gunkata. It’s just like every other movie martial arts. Looks really cool, not realistic at all.
