After Donald Trump's win, Yolanda Scott is upgrading the crowbar she keeps in her purse to a small-caliber pistol.
Scott, an African-American, is one of many minorities who have been flocking to gun stores to protect themselves, afraid Trump's victory will incite more hate crimes.
"You feel that racists now feel like they can attack us just because the president is doing it," one gun shop owner told NBC News.
Gun store owners told NBC News that since November 8 they're seeing up to four times as many black and minority customers — and black gun groups are reporting double the normal number of attendees at their meetings since the election.
Racial tension was already at a high during the election, with a spate of videoed shootings and deaths of black men by police officers, followed by ardent protests and the fatal targeting of white police officers....

IF it’s true, that’s great. If more people own guns and expect to need them for self-defense, then more people should care about their 2nd Amendment rights. I hope they join the NRA, too!

My guess is a very large percentage of those seeking a new firearm will NOT pass the background checks. We can expect a gun theft increase now.
Well, I can dig this. 2nd amendment rights are very important to me and they should be for ALL Americans, even minorities.
This means gun grabbers go even further to the back of the political bus.

Well, maybe... but I think that a lot of good, decent people WILL re-think their former positions against firearms, and realize that they DO have a right to protect themselves (in this case, against the feral elements in their own communities), and that they’ve been lied to and victimized by a single political party for decades.
This can only be a good thing for Second Amendment advocation folks.
Every human being has a basic Human, Civil, and (in this country) Constitutional right to protect their own life and that of their family, no matter what color you are - Because Assholes come in ALL colors. And sometimes those assholes wear badges and have the authority of “Der Staat” behind them.
And when faced with the possibility of lethal injury from one of these assholes, every decent, law-abiding Citizen has the right to respond with lethal force to STOP that from occurring.
There’s good people in those communities, who maybe can’t leave due to economic reasons; they don’t deserve to be murdered or assaulted or raped.
To your point of theft, though... yes, sadly. That’s NEVER going to stop. There’s always going to be that element amongst us.
But when decent folk of any color have had enough, and realize that they ARE able to respond and do not HAVE to be victims, that’s pretty damned empowering... and it’s a beautiful thing to see happening.

It these minorities are law abiding citizens I have absolutely no problem with them possessing any damn weapon they want so long as it is a legal weapon.
If they use their weapons in a legal manner they are of absolutely no danger to me. If they or anyone, choose to use the weapon in an illegal manner they are a threat to me and society.
Same rules applies to my mostly white side and even the small percentage of me that is black. That part is really true and was only discovered by ancestry.com via dna testing. I found that fact amusing.
