A Texas television reporter is out of a job after she criticized President Obama and praised President-elect Donald Trump on her personal Facebook page — claiming the country went “downhill” under the outgoing commander-in-chief.
Scarlett Fakhar said she was recently canned from her local news gig at Fox in Houston for posting last week that she was “happy and relieved” over Trump’s unexpected White House win.
Fakhar had said in the post, which has since been deleted, that Obama made the “entire county hate one another” and claimed God “had a hand” in the election. She also said she could “barely sleep from how happy and relieved she was” after Trump’s victory over Hillary Clinton.
“Fox 26 Houston fired me today for expressing my conservative views on my private Facebook page,” Fakhar posted Thursday. “That is all I will say for you. But I want you to know how much your support has gotten me through this. God bless you all.”(continued)

Just like voter fraud NEVER benefits Republican candidates.
You can be fired for getting sunburned. You’re at will unless you have a contract that stipulates what you can and can’t do.

This is not in line with the Current MediaMatters-approved Groupthink. She HAD to be fired to maintain message discipline, as have several others this year.
There just are not a lot of $1 Million Dollar+ jobs out there for unskilled labor.

The general manager of that station, D’Artagnan Bebel is an overt racist.
We were at a reception for General Schwarzkopf and he (Bebel) refused to shake the General’s hand and even went as far as to say that Colin Powell had to be called in to clean up Schwarzkopf’s mess.
He is a complete ass, so this firing is hardly a surprise.

In Texas, you can be fired for wearing the wrong colored socks to work.
Additionally, her contract likely specifies her job as a newsreader and not a commentator.
Most importantly, Channel 26 ratings are low, very low at the worst in Houston TV news.
All of that gets you fired.
