Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., recommended on Friday that President-elect Trump nominate fellow former GOP presidential candidate, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, to fill the vacant Supreme Court seat.

Trump has said he may consider nominating Cruz's Tea Party ally, Utah Sen. Mike Lee, who said he was not interested in the position. Goldberg said the same may be the case for Cruz, adding, "I don't think Cruz" wants the lifetime post.

Of course the man is qualified but there’s still a contingent afoot in here hell bent on destroying him. He’s constitutionally brilliant. One of the great constitutional minds of our generation. Nope doesn’t matter. We have butt hurt going on because a primary got ugly. You’d think this was the first primary a large audience in this thread has witnessed.
I think he would take the job if offered.
I’ll put money on it he not only keeps his seat but pulls 60%. Wanna wager?
I’ll dispute it. How does a rock-solid constitutional conservative imagine that a Canadian born Cuban is eligible to run for president of the United States?
If globalist Cruz can’t determine something that simple, he doesn’t need the responsibility of determining more complex cases. Besides, the CFR, Goldman Sachs and Soros don’t need another seat on the Supreme Court.
A recommendation by Lindsey Graham is like a poison pill.
No Lindsey...
Cruz is a solid conservative. Not perfect but the closest thing to the real deal we’ll ever see. He’s supposedly irrelevant and a sure loser in the senate race in 2018. I now learn he’s not qualified to be on the SC. Interesting how he lives rent free in the heads of many. In or out of the Senate he still seems to create fear. Interesting.
Cruz is not a natural born citizen, he is ineligible to be President.
Since when does Lindsey Graham have a say in anything Trump does?
Ding, ding! We have a winner! Exactly right IMHO.
I stated in my reply that Ted Cruz presented the Amicus brief from the states. Cruz not the lead attorney for Heller though, Gura was. A lot of people think it was Cruz.
Ted Cruz would make a GREAT Supreme Court Justice. he’s a strong constitutional conservative who has argued before the Supreme Court and he’s young (45.) He could be on the Court for 30-40 years. the fact that he’s Hispanic is gravy.
However, I don’t think he wants the job, nor do I think that it’s the one that best suits him. He’s been one of the few in the Senate who has consistently stood up to the Establishment RINOs — which is why people like Goober want him out of the Senate and why we need him there.
Besides, I think Lindsey has another agenda here — not just to get a solid conservative like Cruz out of the Senate, but to clear the way for one of their get-along, go-along buddies like McCaul.
Yeah, I’m sure President-Elect Trump will be greatly swayed by Lindsay Graham. After his conduct in the primaries, I wouldn’t offer Cruz dogcatcher from Impact, TX.
I will never, ever, completely never understand the fantasy over Ted Cruz. It is the most mystifying thing in American politics currently. What has that man accomplished that grips the minds of certain people?
By the way, whatever became of his religious jive talk that he thought would garner him the Solid South during the primaries?
I believe it is the best thing to do. Cruz will have more impact and good for the country for 40 years. Trey will be next.
On the other hand, Graham acting as bearer of such a gift horse hurts Cruz’ case, rubs Trump’s nose into the Cruz snit storm, causes angst among the Christian Right fundamentalists, whom Cruz rode hard and put up wet, but Graham DOES NOT WANT CRUZ on the Supreme Court.
While he was in the Senate, he was great. But once he ran for president, he slowly transitioned to less great, then bad, then horrible, and finally, at the convention, suicidally delusional.
He was my guy until about December, well before his implosion. Nonetheless, his implosion deeply saddened me.
I have not posted for a VERY long time. Graham needs to go away like the Clintons should.
Ted Cruz needs to be our President.
Cruz may lose his senate seat, so Trump might want to put him on the Supreme Court so that a non-Canadian Republican can run in Texas.
On the other hand, Cruz’s integrity issues might lead him to be the next John Roberts.
