Congratulations to my fellow FReepers on the historic Trump victory! During the election, I wrote several stories and GIMPed a number of images on Trump and his campaign. Hover over the images, read the titles, then click to any you want to read.
I've been a technology market analyst for a couple decades, but I was a novice to political commentary till this election, so I'm glad FR readers encouraged me to give it a go.
Early on, some of my stories were flamed by an occasional Cruzer. No big deal: I dished it back to my Cruz FRiends, too. All in all, FR is a "safe space" for writers trying to get the hang of political commentary.
Let's savor this moment of TRiUMPh! Together we deplorables accomplished a lot.
Very nice!
Ping for later
Awesome graphics
Thanks. My wife and my favorite play. Seen it several times and still wet eyes at the end!

Great job and what a great life our president has had.
Lets help him make the next 8 years, the best years of his life!
Thank you! I can’t get over the sheer amount of online whining from all the little snotflakes whose candidate ran and lost, fair and square just because she didn’t cheat enough to overcome the sheer numbers of Trump supporters. Or, perhaps Hellary Rotten doesn’t have as many supporters as we thought...
Love that graphic, Drew!
Good ones!
Nice comment. Fully agree that Trump kind of grew on us.
Rather than being totally reliant on the media who were death opposed to his ideas, he knew that reaching out in this rallies was the only way to break through and show people who he really was.
Americans detected that was a smart man who also had a heart for the country and the working people made it what it is.
Good one, Dave. This is a man of great courage. God bless the Secret Service too.
Yes, V K, it’s amazing how a face seems to tell us something about the man or woman behind it.
But I think that’s not entirely true. In reality, the known history and composite picture of our many past experiences of a person projecd themselves to their face — but our mind fools us into thinking it’s the face alone.
Hillary, for example, seemed to show character in her face, but knowing her history and her corruption, we never bought it.
Trump knew he had to grow a personal relationship with his followers. And if you achieve that, you don’t need a “ground game” nor spend enormous money on advertising.
The personal trust he built up with we deplorables is what shielded him from the horrible attacks of 50 women accusers. And Trump surely knew those baseless attacks would come sooner or later. After throwing even the kitchen sink at Trump, in the end the MSM had nothing left to throw at him the last two weeks :- )
But many of the lefties who never spent the time to actually watch Trump at his rallies were highly influenced by the MSM’s false painting of the man as racist, sexist, etc.
So it’s truly miraculous what he accomplished. It really was that picture that Grandpa Dave just posted here where everybody — but everybody — was gunning for him.
Thanks, HL27. By winning over the nation against all odds and against the entire establishment, Trump has shown by example the power of “NEVER EVER GIVE UP”.
He’s also taught us that pure determination alone, while key, must also be combined with intelligence, an adaptable mind, and an ability to act decisively and correctly when your ship is caught in a hurricane.
That will be the subject of an upcoming vanity — intrepid American skippers, and what makes them tick.
Thank you for the summary, poconopundit! You added flair with graphics to your ardent messages, making them compelling to FR readers. Onward!
MAGA!
Thank you for all of your hard work throughout this election season, poconopundit! I am going to take my time reading through each of these and will keep relishing the sweet taste of election victory!!
God is the one who delivers the gold nuggets. The writer is nothing more than a panhandler who's trained to see the sparkle of superior ideas and word chains amid buckets of sifted thoughts and sand.
For example, that last paragraph is the result of 30 minutes of thinking, typing ideas down, tweaking them, and once or twice deleting whole sentences because a new angle was discovered.
The miraculous thing is that God rewards the effort. As Emerson wrote:
For example, a man explores the basis of civil government. Even if he intends his mind without rest in one direction for a long time, his effort delivers him nothing. Yet thoughts are flitting before him.
We say, I will walk abroad, and the truth will become clear to me. But we go forth and still can't find it.
Then we imagine the stillness and composed atmosphere of the library will seize the thought. But we come in, and are as far from it as we were at the start.
Then, in a moment, and unannounced, the truth appears. A certain, wandering light appears, and reveals the distinction, the principle, we wanted.
But the oracle comes, because we had previously laid siege to the shrine.
10 out of 10 poconopundit articles here made me think. And they were entertaining, too.
Thanks!
