Its 3:00 in the afternoon, and Shepard Smith is in the chair. Fox News viewers are about to be in for an hour of broadcasting that is at once deeply familiar ― Shep has been on the networks air since it went live 20 years ago ― and also just as strange.
Shep, 52, is not what youre used to if you go to Fox News for its brand of hard-edged, Republican rabble-rousing or affirmations that your conservative world view is infallibly correct. Today on Shepard Smith Reporting will be no different.

FAUX NEWS has a future?
Have never watched Shep or Anderson, our two gay pride anchors.
Have become a fan of Lou Dobbs as of late on FBN.
Except for sports announcers, the local TX stations seem to be old men, feminazi reporterettes, and young guys a little beyond metrosexual. All leftist-leaning.
I’m done with TV news & their drama queens of both sexes.
At least there is something macho about Rachel Madcow.
If so, the future of FOX NEWS will be a short one.
They wish.
They wish!
This is pretty much the death of Fox News.
Are there no conservative billionaires willing to start a new quality conservative channel?
There are millions of conservatives who would immediately make it the number one network.
I won’t watch Sheppard Smith.
Fox had better take a deep breath and acknowledge to themselves what side their bread is buttered on - get rid of the likes of Hannity and Eric Boling and they’re just another CNN or MSNBC - I’m on Fox Business most of the time now anyway, never hit Fox when Shep’s on, and would just like to see what happens to them if he does become their poster boy.....
Crybaby Drama Queen....I NEVER watch him...as a matter of fact when I do watch FOX, it’s usually FOX BUSINESS!
I tape Hannity. 10 is past my bedtime. Now that Greta is gone, the rest is not worth watching.
Yep, I wish they would move Hannity up to Greta's spot, Brit is OK but nothing new with that show.
You actually watch local “news”??
That’s got to be the most insipid, biased, bottom of the barrel PC crap to be found anywhere. And it’s true of all local news regardless of the town.
I gave that up and the local fish wrappers so long ago I can’t even remember when.
I’ve gotten so I hardly ever turn on the boob tube anymore. When I need some mild background distraction I tune in the Golf channel.
Lately I’ve been finding much better quality content on YouTube...such as:
Stefan Molyneaux, Ramzpaul, Black Pigeon Speaks, and others.
For daily news, Freerepublic and Drudge are quite sufficient. And if you have specific areas of interest that you want to keep up on simply google it and select news.
I realize it’s hard to break old habits, but the biggest step is the first one. Try some of this other stuff and it’ll eventually wean you of the boob tube. (Actually you can watch all this stuff on the tube too if you have a smart TV or an add on-device, or simply your laptop.)
Oh, you can also cut the cord and save money on your cable bill. You can use some of the savings to upgrade your internet to a higher speed.
If the network wants to dwindle its audience, yes.
And now Shep has played the gay card, so Fox dare not fire him.
Fox is never going to fire Shep, gay or not. They’ve turned left, and he fits right in.
If those reports about Trump TV are true, who the F cares?
Here in Austin, less and less, and then only to spoil my appetite to help me lose some weight.
