Jennifer Granholm on Trump's Taxes: "Not Every American Looks For Every Loophole Under Every Rock"
RCP Video ^ | 10-4-2016 | Tim Hains

Former Governor Jennifer Granholm (D-MI), a Hillary Clinton supporter, responds to a New York Times report that Donald Trump may have avoided paying federal income taxes for 18 years.

"Donald Trump is the guy who has been tweeting that half of America doesn't pay their taxes when there is a big deficit. Not every American looks for every loophole under every rock," she said on MSNBC's 'MTP Daily' on Monday.

(snip)

"....He's not paying for that. We're paying for that. There is a fairness issue that is very important."

"He says he wants to run America like he runs his business. And you see a billion dollar loss," she added.

It was the ever popular FDR who started withholding in c. 1943. And the American people loved it. They thought it was “helping” them and “hurting” the big guys.

People supporting higher minimum wages would never accept a national sales tax unless someone paid it for them and they got a rebate credit of some kind.

So, she expects your tax attorney & accountants to only claim part of the deductions you could claim. I mean we don’t want to appear greedy - right?

What a maroon...

If you lose $900 million, you sure as hell are going to look for every way to mitigate the negative impact of that on you.

The dems wrote the tax rules, Jennifer, you Canadian.

Trump should be applauded for turning a $1 billion net loss into a $10 billion net worth in the black.

And, he employs 22,000 people.

How many people does Jennifer employ?

And what happened to that $6 billion that disappeared from the State Department when Hitlery was at the helm?

Most of us don’t need every loophole under every rock. If we did, we’d be using them.

Yep, it too late. Too few are pulling the wagon of too many, yet they all get to vote.
That is messed up.
Fire up the money presses.

Does anyone here imagine that Jennifer does her own
taxes??? That there are ways to save her money that
her accountant and tax lawyer just ignore???

Beotch, just go away.

If she has this lax attitude towards her own money, imagine how she feels about the taxpayers money!

NOL is far from a loophole while deducting used undies surely is.

Trump should always bring this up, whenever his taxes are mentioned.

You know, I was hoping that the pitcher would serve up Ortiz a meatball when he came up for his last at bat. It would only be “fair” for him to go out swinging.

But baseball is played by the rules.

The Net Operating Loss offset is very commonly used. No one would have had to look under a rock for it, unless they were stupid. The Dems are really demogoguing this issue. You notice she didn’t say: “I have purposely avoided taking common deductions because I felt it was my duty to pay more in taxes than I legally owed.” None of them are saying this; ergo they are hypocrites.

No, not every American, but there are only 2 Americans running for President (seriously at least), and both have used the same loophole.

So nobody has the moral high ground here. One of them is a hypocrite who would condemn their opponent for things they themselves do, though.
