Gary Johnson is the poorest excuse of a candidate for President. As he is beyond being a total idiot, & his weak brain is fried from all the weed he has smoked over the years! "Aleppo" right? Johnson would not have looked so ignorant or clueless if he had at least said, "oh the Aleppo pine tree?" Even though we know it's a town in Syria, it's also a pine tree, full of sap like Johnson!
If you asked the average American who the Vice President is, they would be equally as challenged. Does that mean you give a pass to a dolt who is asking for votes to be President?
Put the shovel down because until you do the hole just keeps getting deeper.
I’m betting the average American does know who the vice president is.....despite Jesse Waters’ escapades in beach-bimbo America.
With all due respect, try your minutiae meme at your local softball field, not here on FR because it insults those of us who are paying attention. That is the prime reason we are here

Bad joke...
When it gets down to deciding on who to vote for, and you don’t like either leading candidate, then why choose the nut on the right, or the nut on the left, when you can choose “Johnson” in the middle!
Can’t believe I said that!
Not meaning to spoil a good fight, but you need to read the transcript of the CNBC interview that started This flap to understand the context.
IIRC, Mike Barnicle had been asking Gary Johnson for his position on such domestic matters as taxes, prisons and immigration prior to throwing a curveball, “What about Aleppo?” with no long pause or “let’s go to foreign policy.”
Gov. Johnson admitted later he had a brain freeze. We’ve all done that. We’re human.
Reporters want to show their superior knowledge and intellect. They will never ever fall victim to gotcha questions from the interviewee. It can’t be allowed to happen.
I listened to the tape, and I think the questioner subtly paused in the middle when he said the word “Aleppo”. Johnson may well have heard it as “a leppo” and reasonably responded with “What’s a leppo?”
My point is that it was a ‘gotcha’ question, and that ANY candidate can be asked ‘gotcha’ questions. If we validate that media maneuver against one candidate, then we have no right to complain when it’s used against our own candidate.
Stirner has a good point at #27
It was a foreign policy question, not a medical one.
Both cars have lots of gears, so shifting happens.
Shift Happens
:>)
The difference is if it is automatic or manual. ;)
Just like there is no crying in baseball, there are no automatics in road racing except for one that I know of because they guy only had one leg.
It’s a gotcha question, pure and simple. Hell, I admit I had to go look it up to put it together...He could just have easily been asked about the Syrian war or the like.
They didn’t ask about ‘Apello, Syria’. Hell, in almost every newscast, they give the city name along WITH the country; unless it’s been in the ‘know’ for so long (Moscow, Baghdad, etc.)...But, no.
GJ and Weld were what had me turn in my (L) card. Nothing even closely aligned w/ the platform; just a GOPe disgrace.
You don’t know much about him. He is wrong in TPP and borders, but he hasn’t smoked pot since his college days. He just says it’s wrong that so many have their lives destroyed by arrests when Cruz, Clintons, Both Bushes, Rubio, Obama, etc etc have all used dope. And Johnson understands the problem in Syria better than anyone else in this election. You are the one who is challenged.
Gary Johnson thinks Alepo is the 4th Marx brother.
OK, have it your way. But when one of the top five topics of the world for the past two years has been the Syrian conflict, the city of Aleppo is front and center of it, period. Nobody can deny that simple fact. Again, I know that everyone heard for days and weeks on end about the gas attacks and where it happened. Even the news of the last few weeks was about those civilians trapped in the city can’t get food or medical care.
As for Barnacles question, as soon as I heard Aleppo, I knew what it was and to his question of what Johnson would do about it came to what you could consider a “gotcha” moment. But that he had no idea until it was connected to Syria is the main issue. It has been out there since at least the Benghazi attacks because that is where the arms were being transported to. Please don’t ask me about the gun running from Benghazi to Syria on Turkish flagged freighters. nevermind the Turkish diplomat who met with Stevens right before the attacks commenced.
[snip] Another 2012 DIA memo predicts the rise of ISIS and the establishment of a caliphate 17 months before President Barack Obama called ISIS jay-vee.
A third DIA memo, dated Oct. 5, 2012, leaves no doubt that U.S. intelligence agencies knew that weapons were moving from Libya to Syria before the attack that killed four Americans. [snip]
As for an answer to what we should do about it? The proper answer should have been centered on what can we do within the confines of the Constitution would have either shut them up or at least had them on the defensive.
Now, to ask what is the middle name of the ruler of Burundi and what he would do about that person’s lifestyle choices, now that is a gotcha.
No gassing occurred, except of for the self-inflicted that happened the minute Obama promised Navy F-18s for the rebels IF they were gassed. So thru promptly set off a gas shell. The funniest part is last week’s “gas attack”. None of the rescuers were affected as they worked at the site, and the “victims” were all cured with a garden hose. But it was good dramatic film. No war in Syria!!!!
If you go up read my earlier links to the gas attacks I was referencing was when jug ears did his famous worthless red lines in the sand stand years ago.
No gassing happened. And the only problem in Syria is that we are trying to overthrow Assad and are using the jihadis to this end.
Yesterday we bombed Syrian soldiers fighting the rebels. Johnson is right about Syria.
Johnson may very well be right about what we should do in Syria and we in no way should be involved in any way to overthrow Assad. Especially creating alliances with those who seek our ultimate destruction by using a base of operations we helped them to attain their C&C autonomy.
I have never questioned what he said other than the deer in the headlights response to Aleppo in that he had no idea what connection it had to anything until told it was connected to the ongoing situation in Syria. Then his stump speech responses came to bear.
Aleppo is not an obscure factoid either past or present, as others have alluded to, period. That was my only argument.
He’s taking vote away from Hillary - liberals and the press hate him for that... Did you know that?
