Jimmy Carter says the United States is experiencing a resurgence of racism and hes calling on Baptist faith leaders to foster change in their churches and communities.
The former U.S. president spoke Thursday at a summit hosted by the New Baptist Covenant, which he convened in 2007 to unite Baptists of different races, ethnicities and theologies. Carters keynote address came during a three-day meeting in Atlanta aimed at creating partnerships between black and white churches to work together on pressing issues in their community...

Exactly right, you got people who are not naturally racist by nature finding themselves thinking that way purely out of a sense of seeking self-protection. Things went off the rails when ‘white interests’ became conflated with ‘white supremacists.’
Carter is just about as bitter and hateful an old man as you will ever see, and it makes it worse that he twists religion to the ends of his narrow political view of the world.
Whenever his party/ideology is losing the battle of ideas, he attributes it to a ‘rising tide of racism’. He cannot admit that his vision of centralized governmental control of everything is intellectually and morally bankrupt. All he has less is to call his opponents names.
Carter is seeing the basket full of deplorables due to his peanut brain fried on Communism.

I don’t know about that. but if one studies the demographics of cities around the nation-
cities that tend not to follow the national averages on race in those states (more or less white than normal for example), seems to be quite a predictor of which cities would be deemed more safe or more dangerous.
no, I don’t think people want to really discuss that. It would look bad for certain people.
even worse if they claim to be people of faith.
And there are outliers but - the more of one race that outdistances its national average in a city, the higher the offs are that that city will be more dangerous.
It was incredible to see just by using wikipedia and most dangerous and safest city lists to see the trends.
no, that can’t be discussed without blowback..truth is hate to those who hate the truth..
Is this moron still turning oxygen into carbon dioxide?
Will this sack of SHI+ Never die?
That’s the perfect example of political correctness: It may be factually correct, but politically it must be incorrect.
It is not surprising that Mr. Carter is backing the Clinton/Obama effort to destroy that heritage. Let us hope that no one who understands what is at stake will be dissuaded from voting to honor all the things which once made America truly great.
Carter wants the church to get involved in politics? But, it’s liberal politics so that’s okay.
Resurgence of racism in America? Yep, more and more blacks are becoming racists.
He’s right. If you’ve seen the hateful things BLM says and does to police, there is certainly in increase in racism.
The irony is that thanks to the efforts of his kind, there has been a massive rise in Neo-Confederatism and real (not imagined) racism with significant justification.
You idiots want to revive racism, make everyday men and woman watch their paychecks get taxed to pieces, their businesses get looted, their wives and daughters get assaulted by what are basically now state-sponsored criminals. See what THAT does to racial harmony.
Then Jimbo blames Obama for this racism?
Jimmy....talk to the head Racist...in the Whitehouse
Actually, I agree with him. But likely have a different definition than his.
Ah, Carter, waiting until the end of one of the most racially divisive presidents in my lifetime to speak up really does not help anything. You should have spoken up the first time Obama started fanning the fires of racial discord, right after he was inaugurated.
Trump campaign needs to get out ahead of the race stirring.
it’s about all they have left to do is to try and desperately scare Blacks to the polls. It’s despicable
but nothing, absolutely nothing is beneath these people.
