Exactly right. It's gotten so bad that one survey a year or so ago concluded that most people thought that 25% of our population was "gay."
You can't hardly watch anything on television without them putting some sort of "gay" thing into the show.
How did conservatives NOT BUY ONE STATION!!!! ONE!!!
Conservatives get into politics out of self defense. We don't want to be in politics, we want to live our lives and have people leave us alone. However, Liberals eat, live and breath politics, and they devote incredible amounts of their energy to furthering their political goals.
Conservatives don't want to own television stations, they just want television stations to be fair and balanced, not heavily biased. I guess we just kept hoping against hope that it would never get as bad as it has become.
Part of the bias is inherent. Broadcasting networks locate in big cities and the big city population pool leans heavily liberal. Their employees get hired from this pool.
But yeah, our big monied people should have been ruthlessly buying all network assets with an eye on forcing them to report both sides of the issues.
Who the HELL owned hollywood when they made Ben Hur and The Robe and The 10 Commandments?
Religious Jews who recognized that there was a need and a market for religion oriented movies. Decent people, far more worthy than what we have running the place now.
I just saw the Ben Hur remake last Saturday. I thought it was quite good.
What happened in the early sixties?
The baby boomers came of age. World War II had left the United States in the enviable position of being able to turn huge profits because the rest of the world's manufacturing infrastructure was shot.
That peace and prosperity encouraged a relaxing of constraints which eventually evolved into the debauched sixties.
Thanks man. Great explanation.
Makes sense.
We weren’t supposed to NEED politics. We had the constitution!!
