Down here in ‘Bama, we’re picking okra to pickle out of our patio garden. I’ll take that over ‘spotted dick’, thank you.

The one southern dish I never took a liking to.
Given the choice between okra and spotted dick, I go with the disagreeable vegetable.
Seven days a week and twice on Sunday.
And don’t even think about bringing up haggis.
My family is proud of the fact we were driven from Scotland by the English king.
But never in my life would I let something like haggis touch my lips.
