Dude... somebody needs to turn that fancy scope around the right way before they mount it, with the ocular lens facing back and the objective lens facing downrange instead of backwards like it is in that pitcha.
Which seems to imply that all that fancy stuff might be overrated just a bit, and something else not rated high enough.
Just sayin'. :)

But according to the definition of the left the 10/22 is an assault rifle.

If you don’t already have Ruger 10/22, get one.

The age old question: Ruger 10/22 carbine or the Marlin 60.
In pure numbers it’s 5.7 million sold vs 11 million (Marlin). I have both, actually. The Marlin has its great points as does the Ruger 10/22. I’ve really tricked out my 10/22 and I like the large magazines Ruger makes for them.
On the Marlin, I’ve only added a specially mounted sling. I like the tube giving the Marlin a traditional rifle slim feel....
At this point, I like both of them pretty much the same. Tough question that’s hard to answer for every case.

Pretty expensive re-deux, why not buy a Magnum Research for $700?
To: gaijin
I recently got a Savage A22, a 22WMR semi. Sling. BiPod. Scope. Rotary 10 mag. Pretty flat to 175.

If you dont already have Ruger 10/22, get one.I made the mistake of selling my perfectly good 10/22 to a buddy so I could buy a 10/22 Takedown. Very little tricking-out available to the Takedown. Scope and trigger are about it. Stock? Nope. Barrel? Nope. Now I have to go out and get another one. It's for, um, the kids. Yeah, that's it.

I got my twin boys each a Ruger 10-22 compact rifle, 50th anniversary edition, and swapped out the stock for an Axiom tactical stock, added a basic red-dot, changed the trigger pull from nearly 7 pounds to about 2 pounds with new Volquartsen trigger assembly, and extended the bolt handle by 1/2 inch, also Volquartsen. End result is a light-weight, fun rifle for 8 year old that is accurate and will last them many years. Taking them to rimfire competition, they score 1st to 3rd in the junior categories. And 22LR, now around 7 cents each, we can shoot as much as we want without breaking the bank.

Clips?
M1 Garand and 45 Auto revolvers use clips.

Yes, our Ruger 10-22, with tactical stock and 25-round magazines are "assault rifles". This past weekend we went camping and had to leave at home because they are illegal in California, just a few short miles from home.
Pathetic, the only legal gun I have for travel into California is a small Kimber 380, which maxes out at 6+1. And I have to keep locked and all that BS.
