When it comes to today’s Turkey, the question is :”Who’s ‘coup’ing whom?” It’s hard to tell if there are any good guys in this at all. I know Erdogen is not good for his people, but are they saying the same military that failed so miserably at taking over two weeks ago is trying it again?
Is that what they’re saying? If so, I hope it’s under different and more efficient leadership, otherwise, the civilians will beat the armed soldiers up again.

The protest on Thursday outside Incirlik Air Base, where demonstrators burned American flags, coincided with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erodgan’s lashing- out at Central Command’s Gen. Joseph Votel, whom he accused of siding with coup plotters.
“It’s not up to you to make that decision. Who are you? Know your place,” Erdogan said on national television Friday, a day after Votel said the coup attempt on July 15 and the jailing of Turkish military leaders could affect U.S. operations against the Islamic State group in Syria and Iraq.
There may be something to these second coup rumors. Let’s hope so.
The Pentagon is vehemently rejecting remarks by the Turkish president that the U.S. military was siding with plotters of the failed military coup in Turkey.
“Any suggestion anyone in the department supported the coup in any way would be absurd,” Pentagon press secretary Peter Cook told reporters Friday.
