Texas senator went from an enthusiastic reception to almost being booed off the stage as the mostly pro-Trump Republican National Convention attendees gradually began to realize that Cruz wouldnt endorse their nominee in his convention speech.

So Ted was supposed to talk ten minutes and talked for twenty-three. In his mind he was accepting the nomination I guess.
Heidi was out the door very quickly so as to intercept Ted Cruz before he arrives at The Westin Cleveland Downtown, 777 St Clair Ave, to meet his whores from Texas!!!
Some of Reagan's delegates walked out of the hall as well in '76.
Of course, that was when bullies ran back room deals to pick the nominee.
The good 'ole boys tried to force the nominee to be Bush in '80 as well.
We think of Geo. H. W. as a nice guy now - but he was one mean and devious sob then.
Seriously?
I don’t think it was for money— because you would have to have made a ton of money to throw away your entire political career.. especially with Cruz’s ego— he thinks he is God’s chosen one..
Yes. Every one of the candidates signed a pledge. Cruz has not honored that pledge. We have been discussing this for weeks.
Then hello Hillary. We’re doneu.
No pain, no gain. I think it was a good bet and trade by team Trump. And as you point out in your next sentence, tomorrow night can make today's pain go away.
Agreed. I think he did a lot of damage to himself tonight.
Pence gave a good, strong speech; Gingrich was very elder statesman-like, Cruz was a jerk.
I was wondering, during the Cruz speech, toward the end, what was happening because I could hear a lot of chatter going on down on the floor. I think it must have been the moment people realized he wasn't going to endorse Trump.
You’re probably right... but after signing the pledge he shouldn’t have allowed Trump’s “Lying Ted” to prove true... Oh well, him, Kasich, JEB, Mit... guess they’re all the same in the end. Just burns me that they all seem willing to throw the Supreme Court away for the next 20 years because of their egos.
Here's what was on Newt's teleprompter (which he evidently ended up improvising on)
Bit blurry, but it pretty clearly says that "Senator Ted Cruz in particular made the key point that we need to elect the Trump-Pence Republican ticket".
Yep, Trump exposed the whole lot of them.
Hey you must be reading some different history than me.. Ronald Reagan DID endorse Ford...
What does Melania have to do with this topic of Ted Cruz failing to endorse Trump?
I hate all the bushes.
And I didn’t know that about reagan.
But that election didn’t turn out so well.
I hope he blows the crowd away tomorrow in his speech.
Well, he tried; or, as Hubby commented; "I think Newt was trying desperately to salvage Cruz's career for him."
No, it was brilliant. Trump allowed the remaining cultists to see the true colors of their messiah. It was a brilliant move! It also shot down any support Crux might have drummed up should he decide to run in 2020. Look at it through the right lens.
Carson had a great answer to Megyn when she asked him how he could support Trump after what Trump said about him. Carson replied that him supporting Trump is “not about me but about this country.” This might not be the exact quote but close to it.
