This was a bigger slaughter episode (of main characters) than the Red Wedding I think. Now we know why seasons 7 & 8 are going to be short seasons.
They're running out of main characters to kill off!

Or they could do what GRRM started to do in the fourth book: Introduce a whole NEW set of characters and houses and alliances and enemies. Are started reading that part of the novel and thought, “Aren’t we trying to follow enough as it is?!”
