“Cruz certainly fell fast from stature and grace. And Trumps olive branch describing him as an honorable contender yielded no humility.”
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a presidential contender behave as badly as Cruz has, toward his party’s presumptive nominee. To date, Ted has not congratulated Trump for winning the primary fair and square. What few remarks he has made, have been petulant, and covertly hostile. This has only served as a ‘dog whistle’ to his most loyal followers, to continue breathing life into the destructive #NeverTrump bs.
In Ted’s world, his bruised ego is more important than the prospect of Hillary Clinton winning the general. In fact, I haven’t heard him utter a single unkind word about her. It’s something of a red flag to me, that Ted is still in an adversarial stance against Trump. He should have turned his guns toward the Dems by now.
Apologies for the late reply, FRiend. Been busy with work, thankfully!
Excellent points. And Cruz’s myopic ambition also puts his Senate seat at risk.
Perhaps his partner in crime, Levin, could make an effort to dispense with the animosity. An example that Cruz might follow...
