Tanzania, the poster child for Julius Nyere’s “African Socialism”, was similar. I was flying a helicopter mission for two UN ornithologists in Tanzania. The helicopter was based in Nairobi and they asked that when I flew down, please bring toilet paper & light bulbs.

Well, Obambi and company want everyone to lower their ‘carbon footprint.’ At this rate Venezuela will reduce their footprint to something approaching Zero.
I have been educating anyone who will listen that most of the life on this wondrous planet is carbon based. Carbon is one of the most common, natural, and useful things ever created. There are massive oceans of hydrocarbons on the moons of Saturn & Jupiter. I sincerely doubt that dinosaurs and plants were on these moons. We have only drilled a few miles into the Earth. There is sooo much oil, gas, and coal that we will never run out.
I have a sign I created in my office that drives the liberals crazy: “Large Carbon Footprints Make for Happy Trees.” When they actually take the time to listen, they learn a lot.
