T.J. Maxx owner raises forecast as shoppers hunt for bargains

thrills people, nope, maybe it has to do that they have a decent item on sale now and again , though they are still not cheaper than other places like Bealls outlet etc.
I used to work for a Marshalls/HomeGoods combination store before I moved, and I loved it there for the most part. The managers were great, my co-workers were great, the bargains were affordable, and dare I say it, my customers loved me. Yes, I was enthusiastic, and it was contagious. It wasn’t a perfect job (few are) but it was a really good experience for me. The poor economy brings out bargain hunters, and they abound at the TJX brand.
I am a fan of even lower priced stores like Dollar Tree. The opening of numerous Dollar Tree stores seems to have induced area WalMarts to drop the prices on popular OTC drugs and add bins of low priced candies and movie DVDs.
Those 2 stores are too rich for my blood. I usually hunt for stuff at thrift stores like Goodwill.
Bealls is nice, I agree, but they aren’t all over the country.
“Sure, what off-price stores actually offer are lower-quality merchandise made for that market and original prices with no basis in reality. “
The $199.00 “value” for $89.00 are more common.
Nordstrom Rack is terrific according to my family members.
.
Bargains my ass!
I love the Dollar Tree. The kitchen and bath cleaning supplies from LA Totally Awesome are a great value.
Huge Nordstroms Rack fan here. My main place I shop. I get terrific clearance bargains. I wear very nice stuff at usually less than Walmart pricing. You have to go often to find the great deals but they have them. I go to the one in Oxnard Ca about every 2 weeks. I’m addicted. Lol
Forgot to say they are online too. I order stuff online and if I don’t like it take it back to the store. No questions asked. They have a great return policy.

I’ll be darned-—I didn’t know that.
I DETEST shopping and will check it out-———and then have one of the grandkids take it back if there is a problem.
I’m getting quite lazy in my old age.:-)
.
There are brands and product lines from famous brands that are only found at discount stores and outlets.
I’ll buy shirts and pants from thrift stores but I buy my underwear and socks new, usually from TJMaxx or Marshalls.
In the US and Europe, deep discount retailers have done quite well in recent years. They have a strong focus on customer value and low prices that WalMart was founded on but got away from in recent years.
I’m not much of a shopper either. One of the reasons I shop the Rack. I walk in hit their clearance section for clothes and shoes and leave. I don’t try anything on and if I don’t like it for some reason run it back. I rarely pay more than $15 for top of the line tops. I buy $100 shoes for $18. Same with the online stuff. And taking stuff back is super easy and fast.
I like to dress nice but don’t want to pay for it and want it easy. They do that.
Good hunting!!
The Marshall’s closest to me is closed.
Love Nordstrom’s Rack. Famous brands, great fashion, usually 60% or more off. No store within 300 miles of me, but returns are easy. Love the NYDJ jeans. Best ever.
Thanks for sharing. I have family members who love Ross and visit 2x month for enjoyable visits. The nearby Marshalls is always busy. I used to go to Target 2x month but not any more. And it seems like everyone in the whole city goes to the local 99 Cents store. Funny.
