The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published long-awaited rules Thursday that could ban 99 percent of e-cigarette products and wreck industry innovation for years to come.

Passed in 2009, the Tobacco Control Act says all e-cigarette products released after February 15, 2007, (predicate date) will have to go through the Pre-Market Tobacco Applications process (PMTA). FDA officials claim they cannot change the predicate date....

E-cigs are drug delivery devices

At the risk of arguing with the guy whose primary role in life is to make village idiots feel better about themselves: you tell me: what drug is being delivered by my e-cigs. In order to save you embarrassment, I don't use nicotine. So what is it: is it one of the glycol's? One of the food grade flavorings?

Second question for the pro-tobacco fanboy (that is you, by the way -- the big winner in this action is the tobacco lobby, since marginal ecig users will go back to smoking, in droves): if nicotine is so addictive, why was I able to go from regular use of liquid that contained nicotine, to where I am now (no nicotine at all), with absolutely no physical withdrawal symptoms, virtually no cravings, and no other indications of the termination of an addictive substance. You cannot have an answer to that, because there is none that doesn't contradict your idiotic worldview. Bottom line: nicotine is not particularly addictive, nor is it particularly unhealthy (if at all).

I'm not sure that's entirely true, but they certainly didn't originally expect to be paying until folks were 90.

All of my grandparents made it to beyond 90. My mother is almost 93 (and I'll see her this weekend with a six year-old great-granddaughter). My father (two pack a day smoker since he was a teen) died at 73. I doubt he ever spent more than three weeks total in his life in a hospital, and probably most of that was paid for by private insurance. The Feds made a bundle on him.

The company I work for was going to get a contract to manufacture an e-cig component for RJ Reynolds. This might be why it never happened.

I'm not going to read all of that cr@p. Why don't you tell me what the government claims and whether you believe them or not.

I tried every American made ecig and flavor that was in the form factor of a regular cigarette. There were only a few dozen on the market ~2 years ago. I didnt try the cheap Chinese ones or ones with buttons.

The larger units seemed healthier but I didnt like the size and how different using one felt from a regular cig.

Quit now for almost a year

Quick! Go to your nearest Wally World and buy out all the vegetable glycol!

(every single component to create eliquid and electronic cigarettes is already regulated by the Federal government)

Everyone trying to quit nicotine is different. The ramp down nicotine thing worked for you, which is awesome. It would never work for me. I would have been hammering it non stop, there is no stopping point like having to put out a real burning schmig. I had to go 3 months cold turkey, then I got a vape pen with no nicotine. Man it really helps when you miss the ritual of smoking, especially when you are around smokers or drinking some beers or whatever. Looks dorky as hell but who cares.

So does this mean we won’t be able to get new coils or 0% nicotine juice or what?

for men, for example, almost 54% of the them could expect to live to age 65 if they survived to age 21, and men who attained age 65 could expect to collect Social Security benefits for almost 13 years

**************
If there’s any nicotine in potato plants it’d be in the leaves ,, it’s a natural insecticide and the leaves need protecting not the tubers.

So is a shot glass, but it’s not regulated by the FDA, which apparently stands for “Full of Dumb Asses”.

I heard that tobacco kick starts the immune system in a way nothing else does. Never looked into it more, but the story told to me was that part of a world-renowned cancer specialist’s therapy was a requirement of one cigarette per day.

Also, with the happy trails in the sky, I consider the fact of the tar barrier, and how little nasties just hate nicotine... Yeah, there’s plenty of reasons to hate tobacco. It generally makes one peaceable, hence peace pipe.
First smoke bans were in nazi Germany.
