Because as long as they're not held responsible, the nation's demise is apparently just fine
As far as the #NeverTrump crowd is concerned, Hillarys election is apparently a done deal. Its a self-fulfilling prophecy if ever there was one, but they just know Donald Trump cant possibly beat her, and they wouldnt help him do it in any event because Trump is so icky to them.
Ask them about this, and they will offer elaborate justifications for why Hillarys election is not their fault! Heres Brandon Craig at the Reformed Layman going to quite the lengths to explain why a non-vote or a third-party vote by an otherwise conservative voter is not really a vote for Hillary:

Kind of early to be having buyers remorse isnt it? Now that you trumpets have succeeded in nominating a unelectable candidate, youre allready trotting out the blame card.Amazing how Trump is always characterized as having no chance of all of winning - no chance of winning a state, no chance of winning the nomination, and now no chance of winning the general.
As for 'buyer's remorse' - McCain and Romney. Comparing them to Trump, I'm extremely well satisfied with the presumptive nominee. I'll certainly have FAR less vomit coming up in the back of my throat pushing him.
As for his chances in the general, again, McCain couldn't manage to beat a neophyte politician, and Romney couldn't beat Obama even after a disastrous first term.
If the election is a blow out, I'm pretty sure that will merely match Romney's loss.

People have said and I was one of them who wouldn’t vote for Trump but now will. That being said the same argument about Hillary winning was used for people not voting for Cruz, Rubio, Bush etc if they won the nomination

Unelectable??? Have you not been paying attention?

I dont buy that Trump would even by accident nominate a conservative SCOTUS Justice.... Even just a little pushback from the Democrat majority in the Senate will get him to fold and nominate a moderate.

Cruz didn’t get the nomination and Cruz wouldn’t have won over Hillary. I’m sorry about that but it’s true.

There’s several I’m hearing from concerned who voted for Trump....he’s making them skittish as he moves hard left, but it’s late in the game now....he’s expected to reach the magic number and be the nominee, so he’s going to appeal to the left...while at the same time he has to stabilize his base....not so sure he can do that....especially since he also has to unite people. He’s got a tall order on his plate now coupled with preparations for the general he should have had in place somewhat a year ago but doesn’t....and who will sign on that he needs to sign on????

Stupid is as stupid does.
Conservatives who vote for Hillary deserve everything they get and then some.
And they have no right to complain about her decisions.
Their vote put her in office.
So chew on that, #NeverTrumpers.

Would we prefer a maniacal President Hillary Clinton nominates four (possibly five) SCOTUS judges, instead?
Even if we have a majority in the House and the Senate, the court of public opinion would paint us as "obstructionists" and we would get clobbered in mid-term elections.
Our nation is far better having Donald Trump nominating the SCOTUS replacements instead of her.
Even if he is not "pure" enough for some observers on some topics.
