Breaking: Mitch McConnell says he'll support Donald Trump as the Republican nominee.

He wants to stay relevant.
I want him to have a serious rethink and leave the Senate. I am open to any suggestions to make him leave.
Not unexpected. After all, Trump supported McConnell in his last election.
Better to have it than not.
Political wisdom 101:
Doesn’t matter which side you’re on...just be on the winning side.
Principles are so flexible for professional politicians.
I did not vote for Trump in the primary for this reason. I will give him a chance in the general. I do not expect however that I will be supporting him.
That being said, the thought of Mitch McConnell seething with rage while having to put on a face of supporting Trump, is throwing me into a ginormous giggle-fit tonight.
For that alone, tonight I will give Trump a well-deserved slow applause.
So...you will not vote or vote for hillary?
It’s great to see these career corruptocrats fall in line after the American people have spoken. It’ about darn time we have a say on what goes on in Washington DC.
McConnell does need to be replaced, hopefully that will fall in line too as a result of a Trump presidency.

Big difference between Trump and Cruz. Ted aligned with the GOPe for the express purpose of taking out Trump. Trump is the last man standing and the alpha dog of the GOP pack now. They follow him, not the other way around.

What is that saying Trump has? Send we into a wolf pack and I will come out the pack leader!
Then you will vote for no one. They all run negative ads and so do their super Pacs, especially.
We're getting there. But it does mean Mitch still wants to be.
Yes!
I’m sure he would have preferred to be Ted Cruz’s beck and call boy

This is even YUUUGER! than Vicent Fox jumping on the Trump Train.
Well said
I do believe “you haven’t seen anything yet”. I detest McConnell. I hope to see them all groveling soon. Trump has a long memory.
Having run for office in the past, I can't in good conscience vote for any candidate who does a negative ad. All of the presidential candidates blew it in the primary season. Just have to wait and see what happens in the leadup to the general election. But it's not all hopeless. My current congresscritter (a Republican) in his first terms ran an almost ridiculously clean campaign in 2014. I gladly trusted him with my vote. He voted to keep Boehner on as Speaker when the session began but I've since forgiven him that mis-step.
And to answer another freeper: anyone think that Hillary won't run negative? PPPPHHHHHAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...
That woman racked up enough negative as First Lady in her husband's first term that I wouldn't vote her for city sanitation engineer.
My, how the tables have turned this time. Feels great, doesn't it?
We gave a shot across the bow two years ago when we primaried Cantor. That was a thunderboom, but the GOP-e had deaf ears. In fact, they responded a couple months later with that Thad Cochran/Chris McDaniel travesty in Mississippi.
OK, fine. Now we're *really* pissed. And Trump is the nominee. Eat it, GOP-e. Fall in line, or fall away. It's all good either way; we're taking control of our party again!
a few of the gope realize it is not just “we are pissed”
voters want revenge
revenge for the lies.
Eventually, they’ll all line up to kiss his ring. There’s a new king on the throne, and they all know it.
It’s a story as old as mankind itself.
