The price of arrogance.
Ordinarily I would not root for any business to fail, even one of my own competitors. But when a major corporation tells the vast majority of its customers f*** you in order to appease radical social activists, it would really be a shame if those insulted customers just kept shopping there and made the corporation pay no price for its arrogance. The early returns suggest Target customers are doing no such thing.
Breitbart reports that Target stock has fallen $2.65 per share since the infamous announcement that Target will let confused men into its ladies restrooms and dressing rooms, which amounts to an overall reduction of $1.5 billion in the value of the companys stock. I doubt thats a direct result of any revenue drop caused by people boycotting Target, even though 1 million people have signed online petitions saying they intend to do so. Boycotts are never effective for long because after awhile peoples anger subsides and they return to their normal day-to-day habits.
Wait till they see the impact on sales.
Late July we’ll see they’re 2Q results.
The petition is near 1.1 M.
Multiply that by 10.
I haven’t been a big fan of Target as an adult. I’m glad they are a store I *very* infrequently shop. I’ll be sure to stay away even more.
That headline makes me smile
The Target store by me was closed a few months ago and they have been tearing down the building. This is not in an economically depressed area either. I think Target also had banned the Salvation Army kettles outside of its stores a few years ago at Christmas time. Bye bye
I thought the exposure of all their customers credit cards would have done them in.
How’s that “Political Correctness” workin out for ya Target?
EPIC FAIL
They’ll be missed (NOT.)
I love it.
That’s a good start.
The Target store in the neighborhood where I grew up (and where I worked while in college) just closed for good two months ago. Target had been in that location for at least 23 years.
Being PC doesn’t payoff very well... Just ask JC Penney’s, Macy’s, now Target, etc... any other big box leftist corporate dopes wanna jump in?
THAT got their attention, I don't care who you are.
Nice to have some good news on this brisk Saturday morning.
Maybe multiply that by 20. Companies used to say that for every complaint letter they got, 20 people thought the same thing even though they didn’t bother to write a letter. Same with objectionable TV shows.
Even Starbucks, Whole Foods and Trader Joes know better than to outrage their conservative clientele like this? What was Target thinking?
I don’t like ‘box stores’ in general, and would prefer to buy from smaller local proprietors, but sometimes this becomes very difficult.
They made two choices here - well see if they were wrong or right. The gaystapo would be in front of every store right now demonstrating and they could get a sales lift as the go to store for trannys. Will they lose more by offending the mainstream or the gaystapo? We all need to know where that power balance is...
‘Normal day to day habits’
If one eliminates Target shopping from those habits then a boycott becomes a permanent shift in the marketplace. There are only so many disposable dollars.
