I dont know why progressives hate Israel.
But it is undeniable that they do.
There is a palpable contempt, the anti-Semitism of our day, bigotry dressed up as compassion. They talk about Palestinians, and identify with their cause, and you can almost hear them cheering the suicide vests.
Whether from the college classroom or the black pulpit or the progressive stump speech, there is a strident anti-Israeli theme to the prattlings of the American left. And protests to the contrary notwithstanding, it is inseparable from a contempt for the people and religion of Israel.
To my ear, in all honesty, it is not about disagreeing with a nation, it is about hating a people.
And the progressive movement, which condemns and ostracizes any comment potentially offensive to any number of its favored minorities, spews out a condemning invective against Israel that is patently racist.
It is a hateful double standard that seems to harken back to the Spanish Inquisition and the Final Solution. The nation of the Jews, a biblical bastion promised by God and established by international agreement, is vilified for struggling to survive.
I recognize that my own perspective is biased.
I am a Zionist. I am not Jewish, but my Christian faith teaches me that the Bible calls the Jews the chosen people, and makes certain promises to them, including an eventual gathering in their ancestral homeland.
I believe the gathering of Jews to the Holy Land in the late 1800s, and particularly the establishment of the nation of Israel after World War II, were fulfillments of biblical prophecy and the will of God.
Beyond my faith, my understanding of history and my experiences in life teach me that, generally, Jews are exceptional people who have made disproportionate contributions to American society. Their typical culture of hard work, strong families and belief in education have repeatedly led them from generation to generation, even in the face of discrimination, to be among Americas most successful and useful citizens.
Finally, the history of the nation of Israel, and its relationship with its neighbors and the rest of the world, is an impressive one. I was raised with the opinion that Golda Meir was a great stateswoman, that Moshe Dayan was a hero who fought for his people, and that Menachem Begin was a warrior who made peace with his Egyptian neighbors. In Israel, people can vote, women can drive, there is freedom of speech and religion and the press, and they are our allies.
For decades, as the Middle East has condemned America and the monster of jihad has arisen from the gutter, Israel has stood by America and America has stood by Israel. Yes, there was the attack on the USS Liberty, and the espionage of Jonathon Pollard, but our nations have been brothers and they have stood together.
I do not like the current American effort to estrange itself from Israel. The Obama Administration has made the progressive antagonism against Israel a matter of national policy. At one time, Democrat politicians tried to curry favor with Jewish voters in New York City, now the party apparently feels its prospects are better served by attacking Israeli interests and policies. I disagree with this, and find my views and traditional American views better represented by Benjamin Netanyahu than by Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, John Kerry or Bernie Sanders.
I believe that progressivism is an evil doctrine that spreads confusion and bondage, and that it lashes out against anything that threatens it anything that teaches light and truth as traditionally and eternally understood. I believe that the globalist objectives of progressivism demand a collectivism and a subjection of the individual that are incompatible with the individual liberties known in both America and Israel. That is why progressivism is at war with America and Israel.
The war against traditional American values is wrapped up in a series of bigotries against peoples and beliefs, but the war against Israeli values is primarily focused in anti-Semitism.
And the anti-Israeli policies of American progressives are nothing any more sophisticated than garden-variety anti-Semitism. People may pretend otherwise, but they cannot do so honestly or convincingly.
They just goose step to a different cadence.p>
I dont know why progressives hate Israel.
But it is undeniable that they do.
They are me too with Europe
Some of it is just their convenience as scapegoats. By hating Jews, democrat leaders give their followers someone it is "okay" and safe to hate. Some of it is pure malice. National socialists and soviet socialists have always hated Jews because they are God's people, and socialists are on the other side in this eternal battle. True Christians have chosen their side in this war, and so have liberals.
For the same reason that world hated Jesus.
Satan, and the world, knows that Israel will have a 1000 years of rule over them, and they are fighting it with every bit of breath they have.
They hate the God of the Jews (and of Christians).
Part of it is “replacement theology” and another is Islamic Theology. By eliminating the Jewish people, they eliminate those responsible for the death of Jesus Christ. It is the opposite of the teachings of the OT and NT. In the US, most African American Churches teach Replacement Theology, which explains why people like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are so against the Jewish people and Israel. Its hatred that they heard every day on the pews of their churches. Everything is the fault of the Jews. I think Hitler and the Nazi Party spewed the same thing. And yes these same people believe that they are “progressives”. Which is weird because that thinking is very unprogressive
Fact is a lot of Jews do hate Israel, because their dream is world socialism and the idea of having all Jews in one small country is an impediment to that dream.
Indoctrination.
Most liberals are parrots in matters of politics.
The “leaders” of progressive thought are either crazy or very cynical.
The hate comes from Satan. “Progressive” is a euphemism for godless pagan. They worship themselves, and are tools for the evil one.
You have some Jewish leftists who are against Israel.
They want Jews to come to the US instead, and vote Democrat.
Because in Progressive minds, Jews are connected to money and capitalism. It goes back to the medieval shibboleth about greedy Jewish money lenders. (Money-lending was one of the few professions in which Jews were allowed to engage.)
Because God institutes standards, which so-called “progressives” and other islamicommucrats cannot abide.
You would think they would love Israel - taxpayer-funded abortions for all, universal healthcare, and a recently passed law to cap CEO pay.
Why are there still people so uneducated as to not understand the inevitability of leftist hate towards Israel?
There aren’t any difficult or obscure concepts involved.
explain this cruzites
“Standards”, often called “truth” - is that which the progressive liberal mind cannot abide. The very mention of the word “truth” evokes an abhorrent reaction.
The mystery isn’t why they hate it now. It’s why they used to support it.
What you call "replacement theology" is in fact traditional chrstian teaching from the very beginning until about three or four hundred years ago. I'm sorry this is true, but it is, and you can't wish it away.
Jackson, Sharpton, and (apparently) many Black churches are not anti-Israel because of "replacement theology." They are theological liberals to whom G-d is a symbol of "social justice." They subscribe to all the liberal notions of higher criticism, evolutionism, and the Bible having no authority on issues such as homosexuality. No one ever talks about it, but Martin Luther King Jr. was a total European-style liberal who rejected the supernatural and to whom chrstianity was merely a humanistic ethical philosophy.
Ironically, at one time the Left supported Israel (and it did so in the US long after the Communist world had ceased to do so). This included the Black Left (King, Ralph Bunche, Paul Robeson, Edward Brooke).
Any vestige of God’s word must be eradicated - and Israel is a living reminder of the entirety of God’s word, as the ancestral God-given homeland of the Jews.
