“Sugar is a poison.”

Ugh, it certainly is not. Sugar is an essential nutrient required to support life. You can eat it directly, or you can try to avoid it and your body will just manufacture it out of other stuff you eat, because your body cannot function without sugar.

Now, too much sugar is not good for you, but that does not make sugar a “poison”, any more than water is a poison (yes, drinking too much water is bad for you too).

Got news for you! Eating refined sugar, which is what I did not make clear and should have done so, is unnecessary and most definitely NOT essential to nutrition.

I've successfully managed my weight and immune system for about five years now. I use a very normal amount of sugar, but only granulated cane sugar. In appropriate amounts, it's an essential part of a diet that works for me.

One possible factor came to mind as I read this, considering the time frame of the increase in autism. It is highly processed foods, especially high fructose corn syrup.
