Rush Limbaugh Has Completely Lost His Way
http://www.redstate.com/ ^ | April 16th, 2016 | leon_h_wolf

Probably no one has earned more leeway from conservative voters and pundits than Rush Limbaugh. Rush has been a tireless force for the conservative movement for decades, and he probably is responsible for a whole lot of conservative Republicans who are currently in office. But thankfulness for past service only goes so far, and Rush’s program yesterday officially crossed the line.

When I think about Rush’s last year or so on air, I’m reminded of Marshall Phillipe Petain, one of the most intriguing figures of the twentieth century. Without Petain, the French might not have prevailed over the Germans at Verdun, and thus might have lost World War I. But for as much thanks as France owed Petain for his service in World War I, the full historical reckoning for Petain must acknowledge that Petain was a Nazi collaborator, the leader of Vichy France, and a totalitarian dictator. Petain’s history is complicated, and to tell the whole tale honestly requires acknowledging both the good and the bad.

So it is with Rush. For all he has done, and for all we should be thankful for, it is hard to deny that Donald Trump has brought conservatism to a critical moment. From this moment forward, it will either resemble the vision Rush has preached for thirty years, or it will not. It will either move forward as a recognizable force, or it will be destroyed with Trump in a historic landslide election.

Again, which of Trump’s policy positions is not Conservative? If they’re not Conservative, why is Cruz stealing them?

We have to fight, the uniparty exists in the republican party and has been screwing conservatives for decades since ghwb.

Maybe Rush thinks that Trump will be able to implement conservative ideas, when he becomes president.

I agree with him.

Cruz would not be able to implement anything, because, among other things he has no shot at winning the general election.

>Trump’s plan includes two very important aspects to reforming our broken (it was broken before Obamacare and now Obamacare has completely shattered it) health care system. Price transparency and drug re-importation are essential for true reform.

Yep. Trump’s plan is 100 times better than what I expected. He’s clearly consulted with some pretty smart guys in formulating it. The savings in drug prices alone will really help average folks.

He never said health care for everyone. You’re lying again.

http://www.ontheissues.org/2016/Donald_Trump_Health_Care.htm

Q: If Obamacare is repealed & there's no mandate for everybody to have insurance, why would insurance companies insure somebody who has a pre-existing condition?

TRUMP: Well, I like the mandate.

Sounds like healthcare for everyone to me. You may read it differently. I am not lying.

It’s a talking point from the Cruzlims where because Trump says to let the ‘good ones’ come back in legally, somehow, they interpret that to mean that he’ll make them all go walk across the border and then walk right back in. Hence the term ‘touchback amnesty’, because of course then they’ll have some kind of Cruzian Fantasy Amnesty.

Yeah, except you are lying. He was talking about the mandate to cover people with pre-existing conditions and that was pretty damn obvious to anyone who isn’t A) a moron or B) looking to score lame political points.

How does getting rid of Common Core and returning education back to the states mean he is big government? Healthcare? He will kill Obamacare and work towards letting insurance companies sell across state lines, thereby lowering the cost of healthcare, making it available to more people.
I suggest you read Trump’s position pages.

No. It is not obvious. Granted, Trump doesn't always strive for tight language when he expresses policy positions, bt that is not justification to interpret it the way you would. The "mandate" in Obamacare was to make it worth the insurance companies while to cover people with pre-existing conditions by forcing everyone into the system. That i what the mandate has always meant. Interestingly, in 2008 Obama said he was against a mandate in a debate with HRC, who had already committed to it.

Anyway, I know I am not a liar, whether you think I am or not.

I agree that there is a central GOP dominant faction that is suppressing the more conservative faction/individual.

Now we have to find a way to stop it and let them know that if they don’t cut out the crap, the GOP could collapse and all of them would be out of jobs and would be blackballed from working in a new conservative party.

That might get their attention.

McConnell must go no matter what. He’s a coward and a disgrace to America.

I stopped listening about a month and a half ago due to his obvious Cruz fanboy attitude. He may believe he was being “impartial” but he wasn’t.

That’s the kind of thing that I wish the Cruz people would open their eyes and see. It’s not about some ideological tug of war. It’s about actually fixing these things.

If Trump builds the wall, gets his tax plan and health care plan passed, it will be the most conservative change this nation has seen since Calvin Coolidge.

We MUST break the back of the Surrender Trade position.

Only Trump will attempt to do this.

Getting Mexico to pay for the wall is MUCH BIGGER than a symbolic $12 billion savings. He has been as explicit as one can possibly be that he intends this to be through a tariff, if they don’t voluntarily write a check.

I guess, theoretically, you could have a mandate for only those with pre-existing conditions but someone other than the individual would have to pay for it because the “insurance” would not be affordable.

A mandate makes insurance “affordable” for those with pre-existing conditions, theoretically, of course.

Yeah, I guess I’m weird I like Trump and Cruz both. Cruz was actually my first choice but I don’t see a way for him to win, and Trump is making all the right people’s head explode.

"He is a river through modern conservative media and Red State is a bladder problem."

Agreed

What I find disheartening is the way many people claiming to be conservative will savage anyone and everyone who doesn't agree with every belief or desire they have.

This is why democrats will soon rule our country exclusively. While they band together, we tend to slaughter each other.

Cruslim = We’re doomed, thanks to you and your terminology. Enjoy Inauguration day in 2016, when you can sing “God save Queen Shrillary!”

It’s a natural response to Trumpanzee, Cruzer Never Trump blacklists, Cruz’s Alyinskite campaign tactics, etc. What’s good for the goose...
