“Obama also “filled up stadiums” - but what does that really mean?”

He won two elections, that is what it means.

And you were OK with how that turned out?
People that just wanted someone to tell them what they wanted to hear - and that's what they got.

The Obie supporters got a lot of what was promised...the only problem is; it's a bunch of crap.

No, but some of you people only hear what you want to hear. My response to that poster was about the concept of a candidate being able to gather up a large crowd. It was the concept of a candidate being able to draw a large crowd that I commented on.

Someone had posted that Trump could gather a crowd, and he meant it was a good thing.

A poster responded that Obama could also gather a crowd, so what does that mean.

I said, that Obama won two elections because he could gather a crowd. I did not say I liked Obama. To repeat, I merely stated that Obama could draw a crowd, and that usually means, in American politics, that he can turn out voters also.

If you prefer a candidate who cannot draw up a crowd, go with Rick Santorium. He went some place and was met by one person. That should thrill you.

“People that just wanted someone to tell them what they wanted to hear - and that’s what they got.”

Everyone wants their candidate to tell them what they want to hear. That is how people make up their minds on who to vote for. They vote for the candidate that says what they want to hear.

Reagan won because more people liked what he said than what Carter said.

Reagan said what I wanted to hear, so I voted for him. Carter did not say what I wanted to hear, so I did not vote for him.

After Reagan was elected, I held my breath, so to speak, to see if he had been honest. He was in fact honest.

Reagan ran on three things: build up the military, cut taxes, and cut spending. His first few months in office, he did just that.

Every time you vote for a politician, you take a chance, because, odds are, they are lying and saying things just to get votes.

I can rule out Cruz because of his votes, some stances he took before Trump got in and forced him to change, and because he is not eligible to be president. Otherwise, he would release his U.S. citizenship verification documents. He won’t so that is a good indication he does not have them.

Now, when he says he has them, is he just saying what he thinks you want to hear?
