Trump just got BAD news, could COST him nomination(Allen West's blog)

While Donald Trump continues to lead in delegate count, this week has not been his in terms of momentum. The GOP frontrunner was handed a resounding defeat in Wisconsin, where rival Ted Cruz beat him 48.2% to 35.1%. Now all eyes have turned to New York, the next primary in the nominating contest, with 95 delegates at stake — where Trump currently enjoys a commanding 56% to 22% lead over Cruz in the latest poll.

But even before the New York primary in a couple weeks, Trump may be precluded from reaching the required 1,237 delegates before the Republican National Convention, given what’s rather quietly happening in Colorado as we speak. As The Washington Post wrote of the Colorado delegates:

But if the Republican presidential race between Donald Trump and Ted Cruz is decided by just a handful of delegates, what happens in Colorado this weekend might matter most of all.

Nate Silver goes so far as to suggest that if Trump gets shut out in Colorado this weekend, he will definitely fall short of the 1,237 delegates needed to clinch the nomination before the convention. And that, of course, would leave him vulnerable to the workings of the GOP convention, which many — including Trump supporters — fear could quash his chances of walking away as the nominee.

Many observers — and the Trump campaign itself — don’t expect Trump to do well in Colorado.

Based on what happened in the first two district contests, it is expected that Ted Cruz will sweep the 34 Colorado delegates being selected at the district and state assemblies. The remaining three delegates are the members of the Republican National Committee from Colorado and can remain unbound.

As of Friday afternoon, Cruz has dominated the first five contests in Colorado, while Trump and Kasich remain empty-handed. While neither candidate will make the trip to Colorado this weekend, both Trump and Kasich are putting more focus on the state convention’s weekend proceedings, in an attempt to nab some delegates before it’s over.

While this contest is likely to garner a small fraction of the coverage the upcoming New York primary will get, it’s on its way to quietly tipping the scales further toward a contested convention.

Pretty sure Trump uses every advantage he can in business...and you would applaud him for it.

IMHO Cruz is Constitutionally unqualified to run, and Kasich has been rejected by the voters but in his home state. And, NO to the GOPe.

Good point.

I think Trump’s enormous vanity has done him in.

He enjoys all those huge rallies and the cheers.

He likes having flunkies work for him who tell him what he wants to hear.

And suddenly, it sinks in on him that Cruz is better organized and better at ... what shall we call it?

The Art of the Deal.

Unfortunately, for Trump and his legions of supporters and fans, he and they, believe we live in a democracy; we do not.

America is a democratic republic, just our founders designed us to be.

Trump learned lots about how to win the "art of the deal" but failed to learn what it takes to win elections.

The field is littered with those who wanted to win the big prize but failed to first learn the rules.

Like Trump, they pointed fingers of blame at this person or that group, whining bitterly about the unfair game but had they studied the strategy a bit more and believed a bit less that the power of their own personality would win the day, they might have just walked away with the big prize!

Then, Trump should sue.

But, as he threatened to sue Ted Cruz a few months ago and Cruz publicly called him on it and Trump folded in silence, I doubt Trump would sue here as you insist, for his attorneys will tell him Cruz operated perfectly within PARTY RULES set set in advance and made clear, and OTOH Donald failed to build an infrastructure on the ground in Colorado to turn out people for his cause--the real name of the game--which Cruz has done resoundingly tonight in the Rockies.

RE:”IMHO Cruz is Constitutionally unqualified to run,..”

Didnt you Trump folks tell us that about Obama for the past 8 years?

So I guess there is no Obamacare or gay marriage because Obama was not eligible?

Tell that to his victims.

Well, that was a big load of nothing.

Do you think writing Trump in is gonna defeat Hillary?

Does rally attendance count as votes?

Does voting for all the democrats in the under card do something good for the country.

And, finally, have you lost your mind?

RE:”Tonight I talked with one of the delegates from Colorado. Most delegates said Trump didn’t care enough to come, so he shouldn’t complain.”

Thanks Linda. I am far from CO.

I saw cable TV reports that said that the Trump campaign blundered worse than that. Like not even knowing the names of the delegates.

OH, another message from TRumpee corner coming in:

Of course any Trump loss must be due to cheating so we must all join the in-crowd and vote third party, or (wink-wink for Hillary) , if TRump loses, to teach them a lesson,”

Especially that no good Ted Cruz. QUIT TED QUIT , or (we) will elect Hillary”

No, votes count as votes.

And thus far in the GOP primary cycle, Donald Trump has received about 2 million more votes than Ted Cruz...

But of course it's not Trump and his campaigns failure, it has be because someone else is cheating.

Yeah because Mr. Devout Christian that Cruz claims he is, is really working to make sure the will of the people is suppressed. What he really is is a Lawyer plying his trade to work the system in his favor. I'm sick of Lawyers running this country.

For you Cruz at any cost supporters: What if you tick off Donald Trump so much that if he loses the nomination he runs 3rd party? Do you think Cruz could win the general election with Trump running against him? Hey it's legal in most states and Trump just needs to run in most states to insure. Those are the rules folks you love to use the rules to your advantage. What if Trump decides to do it? I'm not saying he will but the crap that Cruz is pulling is not cost free.

Cruz by any stretch of the imagination is not the ideal candidate. He's the Junior Senator, has finished his first term. The Dems will chew him up and spit him out. But you don't care you already have Trump to blame for everything you will just place it at the feet of Trump and his supporters.

What happens if through all of Cruz's craftiness Paul Ryan gets the nomination in a contested convention? It would mean that either Cruz was delusional or he was working for the GOPe all along. Oh right because Cruz follows the rules those delegates are locked in. Sure you tell yourself that. I'd be happy to vote for Paul Ryan if it means you Cruz supporters get crushed. A real outsider would have stepped aside since Trump is the only one who has a chance to get to 1237. But Cruz isn't thinking about the country he's thinking about his political future and playing spoiler for the GOPe.
