Nobody's Stealing The Election From Trump
American Thinker ^ | April 2, 2016 | Daniel John Sobieski

On the heels of a Marquette University poll showing Sen. Ted Cruz taking a 10-point lead in Wisconsin, Donald Trump once again whined on Wednesday that the “establishment” is trying to take the nomination away from him, citing the Louisiana delegate allocation which gave Cruz more delegates even though Trump got more votes. as Exhibit A. As Breitbart News reported:

With less than a week to go until the Wisconsin primary, Trump came out swinging -- against Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), against the Establishment lining up behind Cruz in order to keep Trump below 1,237 delegates so they can broker it in Cleveland, and against Cruz’s supporter Governor Scott Walker.

Every state has their own rules...Don’t like them, change them.

I agree votes are more important than complex and confusing delegate “rules”

I for one dislike the winner take all state rules, many state GOP have....effectively if a candidate gets 51 % of the vote, the other 49 % just have to suck it up...but that is the rule....seems to me it’s dumb to alienate 49 % of the state voters...

As for being a party guy.... lol... Those dips@hits in DC can KMA.

I for one am a constitutional conservative and hold to those principles in spite of unrelenting attacks, slurs, lies on Cruz character and his family here on FR and I still support him....

If Trump wins the nomination, he will have my vote...

Will you consider it FAIR if neither one is the nominee?

If a majority of the assembled GOP delegates want to pick Donald Trump or Ted Cruz or John Kasich or Mitt Romney or Paul Ryan or Dan Quayle or any registered Republican over 35 with a pulse, yes, I consider it fair. Will I personally be happy about most of those? No. Will I vote for most of those? Probably not. Is it undemocratic to select someone who didn't even participate in the primaries? Yes. Is it recipe for disaster in November? Probably. But fair? Yes, if it's done according to the rules, yes, it's fair.

Kasich staying in the race only results in Trump getting more delegates than he would if Kasich is out. There are many places where Kasich will pull enough votes from Cruz to help Trump win with a mere plurality of the vote. And there are virtually no places where Kasich getting out would result in Trump winning where he would otherwise lose. There are only 4 proportional states left which are smaller, and I doubt if even there Kasich’s presence would actually take any votes or delegates from Trump.

Kasich said he didn’t even know about Rule 40 until a few days ago. The guy is simply not smart and not doing the math. He’s handing Trump a bigger delegate lead without understanding what he’s doing.

So if Trumps team knew the "rules" and used them for his advantage...

He would be corrupt as well...?

You don't have to reply, I already know your answer...

On the heels of a Marquette University poll showing Sen. Ted Cruz taking a 10-point lead in Wisconsin

Yawn. That Marquette poll had only 471 respondents with a ridiculous 5.8% margin of error, which means that Cruz's lead was not outside the MOE.

Contrast that with the Optimus poll, which had over 6000 respondents and 1 1.14% MOE, and in which Trump was leading Cruz 29%-25%, well outside the margin of error.

And yet the only poll we ever here about from Ted Cruz supporters and the Media is the garbage Marquette poll.

Just more of the deliberate, ongoing slanting of coverage in such a way as to try to de-emphasize Donald Trump's appeal.

Selective, transparent, clumsy propaganda and slanted coverage is the forté of the Trump-haters...

No honor or integrity. Hides behind “rules” to avoid doing the right thing.

Precisely why 50% of Americans don’t vote? Why bother? People who manipulate the “rules” to steal votes and viilare intent of election tell them their votes don’t count.

But fair? Yes, if it's done according to the rules, yes, it's fair.

The rules aren't fair. How can something be undemocratic and fair? And don't forget, they can change the rules any time they want. In fact, it will happen just prior to the convention.

Yeah, you keep telling yourself that.

Well, PROVE it. WHERE has Trump been "stolen from" outside of the normal primary/delegate rules that existed when the primary started?

Being ignorant of how the system works doesn't make you a "victim", it makes you IGNORANT.

Do you want to expose yourself as someone who cares not a whit about the will of the people? Or democracy?

Only St. Ted? We’ve seen who you are. Begone. You have no power here.

RE:”At this point do you really think Cruz or any other candidate would want Trump over almost anyone? Trump is a joke of a candidate. The most ProLife candidate in the race? Five positions on abortion so far? Three H1B the positions in two hours. 70% of women hate him. He has no idea how he would fund general election if he wins. Doesn't understand delegate selection rules.
Trump is done. Finished as a candidate. You can bellow how many delegates he has. But we all know that if he does not win on first ballot, he won't win. “

I don't know if he's done but he sure is a disaster.

As far as he and his Black Lives Matter type supporters threats to riot and help Hillary get elected if he doesn't get the nomination, don't give in to terrorists.

>>Cruz is running the best GOP voter suppression campaign the Dems could ever have had.<<

Interesting that you think that, given that polling consistently shows that if Trump is nominated a tremendous number of traditional GOP voters (that would be the base) will refuse to vote for him.

Most Trump voters are no where near as informed about politics as other GOP voters (if they were, they’d be repulsed by Trump’s former stands which are all over the lot policy wise) and will easily vote for Cruz after they compare his stands with Hillary’s or Bernie’s.

Those who’ve come out of the woodwork have no interest in policies they’re simply enjoying the train ‘ride’ because it’s a slap in the face of politicians and the government. ...Trump ‘easily’ manipulates them.

....”Trump thinks he should be able to ‘steal’ the nomination even if he’s short of the requisite 1,237. For ALL of them, what’s ‘fair’ is whatever outcome results in them as the nominee. None of them care about anything beyond that.”....

Well after all it is about winning the Primary that they entered the race. Cruz and Kasich have long been ‘preparing’ for this time....Trump jumped in to see how far he could go before he got too old to do it....after all the success in his life and the kids handling the business this jump would put another notch in his belt win or loose. But I never believed he wanted the presidency, just the game to play in in his retirement years.
