The Ted Cruz sex scandal may be nothing of the sort, some journalists are beginning to say after the seemingly bombshell story hit the news this week.
On Friday, the National Enquirer reported that Cruz had been something of a ladies man in Washington, with five different mistresses. It appeared to be a major story, especially given Cruz's strong Christian faith and his seemingly strong morals.
But there very quickly appeared to be cracks in the story, and now many journalists are going on record to raise doubts that any of it might be true. The most immediate denials came from two of the women identified in the story, Donald Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson and CNN contributor Amanda Carpenter.
Carpenter, who was put on the spot by Trump surrogate Adriana Cohen during a live interview, was particularly vehement in her denial....

Chris37, don’t bother replying to RginTN. As I’ve tried to tell others, he’s just a parrot repeating phrases that he’s heard others make, and thinks that his repetition will demonstrate his political astuteness and ideological purity. And when he hasn’t an answer, which is often, he responds with juvenile cat-calling. His new pejorative is “trashytrump”, and like a 4 year old hearing a new word he’ll use it every chance he gets. If you doubt me, look at his posting history. To his credit at least he spells it the same way every time. I suppose he feels if he says it enough he will appear witty as well as intelligent. He’s wrong on both parts.
So do yourself a favor and ignore this troll’s attempts to draw you into replying. Trying to teach a pig to whistle has more chance of success than expecting a intelligent response from RginTN.
And one more time RginTN, for your own sake, correct your personal page. The word is spelled “surrendering”.
Yeah, I have seen a number of his posts. The Cruz supporter posts often times kind of jump out at me, and some of them are really bizarre.
They seem really wrapped up in their guy, even more than some Trump supporters. I’m not sure it’s even healthy.
It does go with the dress she has on. Some women’s jackets don’t have buttons, but dark buttons very easily might not show on a dark jacket. Again, the jacket has three-quarter sleeves and fits her.
She’s supposed to refrain from blinking because she’s been blind-sided by a Trump operative on live television?
That may be the case, but this scenario has the potential to blow up in his face.
Lets say Cruz has a good 30-40% support base at this time. Why make that support base hate your friggin guts forever?
You might succeed in taking Cruz out, but you wont win the general.

Trump has spent his entire adult life as a bare kncukle brawler. He assumes that when he is done with Cruz he will win over his voters.
Foolish assumption IMO. But his followers love this crap as ou can see here.
I hope Trump is smarter than that. His scorched earth tactics are going to blow up in his face November.
oh boloney.. nobody wears a dark dress jacket with a sleeveless sundress.. ask any woman with taste
It bothers me to see this internecine war between the supporters of Trump and Cruz. Like it or not, after the dust settles in Cleveland we’re going to need each other’s vote to defeat the real problem, an out of control political system no longer worthy of the names “republic” or “democracy”. Exchanging insults like “trumpbot” or “cruzbot” only makes it that much harder later on to work together. And every obstacle we place in front of ourselves gives aid and comfort to the Democrat nominee, probably Hillary.
We’re all guilty, Trump and Cruz supporters, of violating Reagan’s 11th Commandment during this campaign, to not disparage a fellow Republican. So let’s all try to keep the name-calling to a minimum and like the saying goes, keep our eyes on the prize. If the people choose Trump I will support him. If Cruz is assigned the task by the electorate of taking back the White House I’ll support him equally. What we have to lose if we lose is FAR more important than bruised egos because of juvenile cat-calling.
Oh, and I also promise if the Republican nominee is the result of a manipulated convention, then I will never pull a lever for any candidate with an (R) by his name, because that party will no longer exist...
It’s plain to see that he won’t.
This is like trying to defeat your opponent by hosing him and yourself in gas and then lighting a match.
The only one that benefits from the primary being dragged into the crapper is the GOP.
Yes, you are right, and I have been guilty of this myself.
the situation needs to change, but I am not sure if it can. There is bad blood, and I think it’s going to get much worse.
Right now we are divided, and soon we will be conquered.
If what you outline happens, there will be NO party.
depends which GOP candidate, I stopped holding my nose in 2012
got a lot of gried here on fr from romney lovers, but, I prefer to stand before God and be honest about no longer holding my nose
HEWITT: I want to ask you a question, though, you promised us great leaders. And I believe that. But Jeb Bush has laid out 20 different people that have experience around the world. There are 190 countries, you cant run the world by yourself.
When are we going to get some names on your military and your foreign policy advisers?
TRUMP: (inaudible) Im and Im meeting with people that are terrific people, but I have to say something because its about judgment.
I am the only person on this dais the only person that fought very, very hard against us, and I wasnt a sitting politician going into Iraq, because I said going into Iraq that was in 2003, you can check it out, check out Ill give you 25 different stories.
TRUMP: In fact, a delegation was sent to my office to see me because I was so vocal about it. Im a very militaristic person, but you have to know when to use the military. Im the only person up here that fought against going into Iraq.
One would think if he was so vocal about it and if there were a “delegation” sent to his office, he might be able to produce ONE of the 25 stories (I said “dozens” and 25 is, in fact, more than 2 dozen) that he promised he could produce.
Your willingness to attribute a very nuanced “soft sell” to Trump doesn’t match his own claims about his “vocal opposition” to the war prior to its commencement.
Explain the $500,000 payment to Fiorina’s PAC then.
Thank you for providing the context.
I am the only person on this dais the only person that fought very, very hard against us, and I wasnt a sitting politician going into Iraq, because I said going into Iraq that was in 2003, you can check it out, check out Ill give you 25 different stories.
Very hard against "us"? maybe a typo? Hope he did not mean to fight against "us"?
The operative words for the timing of his vocal opposition were:
going into Iraq that was in 2003
This could be interpreted as before the war started, in which case his statement was not accurate. However, provided he clearly was making the distinction in his mind, he may have meant the time before and during the early stages of the war, in which case he was vocally opposed from what I have read, but I have not researched the matter deeply enough to know the number of stories that support this.
The meaning may not have been completely clear in his mind since he was not studying a timeline of events and may not have perfect recall on the matter.
Not sure what the delegation reference means either.
So far he seems to have been reasonably honest and straight forward on the matter, albeit a bit ego eccentrically focused.
The gnats you have left to grasp at are the kind of timing and detail issues that are always inconsistent with any real accounts by eye witnesses to events a few years ago.
I appreciate your hard-work and desire to breathe life into a gottcha attempt that flopped. But sometimes it turns out that the suspect is innocent.
I voted for R0mney, and I regret that vote for sure.
Thing about not holding your nose is that some things that smell bad to some don’t smell bad to others, and vice versa.
The other thing about nose holding that I am learning is that they all stink.
And those who choose to continue to disparage their 'fellow man' -should be looked upon as ingnorant hicks who don't know any better -and should limit themselves- to reading only with no posting.
Whew! What a relief!
I'm glad they got to the bottom of everything over Easter weekend, and there's no need to examine anything further.
Time to Move On...
If Bill Clinton were healthy and not term-limited out, he’d probably have a good chance of winning the election this year. Agree?
Nah, he's looking too frail...
