Ted Cruz Sex Scandal Questioned: Serious Doubts Arise Over Claims Cruz Had Mistresses
The Inquisitr News ^ | March 27, 2016 | Nathan Francis

The Ted Cruz sex scandal may be nothing of the sort, some journalists are beginning to say after the seemingly bombshell story hit the news this week.

On Friday, the National Enquirer reported that Cruz had been something of a ladies man in Washington, with five different mistresses. It appeared to be a major story, especially given Cruz's strong Christian faith and his seemingly strong morals.

But there very quickly appeared to be cracks in the story, and now many journalists are going on record to raise doubts that any of it might be true. The most immediate denials came from two of the women identified in the story, Donald Trump spokeswoman Katrina Pierson and CNN contributor Amanda Carpenter.

Carpenter, who was put on the spot by Trump surrogate Adriana Cohen during a live interview, was particularly vehement in her denial....

He was for the Iraq war before it started and then 3 days after it started he came out and condemned the war effort.

Twitter was not around until 2006, so we did not get Trump's opinion on everything every day. However two months before the war he was asked about how he would advice the President on the Iraq war. Note the question presumes that some action in Iraq will be taken and is about how much focus it should be. If you are attentive, you will note Trump brings up the idea that maybe we should not attack at all and soft sells it.

Cavuto: If you had to sort of breakdown for the president, if you were advising him, how much time do you commit to Iraq versus how much time you commit to the economy, what would you say?

Trump: Well, I’m starting to think that people are much more focused now on the economy. They are getting a little bit tired of hearing, we’re going in, we’re not going in, the — you know, whatever happened to the days of the Douglas MacArthur. He would go and attack. He wouldn’t talk. We have to — you know, it’s sort like either do it or don’t do it. When I watch Dan Rather explaining how we are going to be attacking, where we’re going to attack, what routes we’re taking, what kind of planes we’re using, how to stop them, how to stop us, it is a little bit disconcerting. I’ve never seen this, where newscasters are telling you how — telling the enemy how we’re going about it, we have just found out this and that. It is ridiculous.

Cavuto: Well, the problem right there.

Trump: Either you attack or you don’t attack.

Cavuto: The problem there, Donald, is you’re watching Dan Rather. Maybe you should just be watching Fox.

Trump: Well, no, I watch Dan Rather, but not necessarily fondly. But I happened to see it the other night. And I must tell you it was rather amazing as they were explaining the different — I don’t know if it is fact or if it is fiction, but the concept of a newscaster talking about the routes is — just seems ridiculous. So the point is either you do it or you don’t do it, or you — but I just — or if you don’t do it, just don’t talk about it. When you do it, you start talking about it.

Cavuto: So you’re saying the leash on this is getting kind of short here, that the president has got to do something presumably sooner rather than later and stringing this along could ultimately hurt us.

Trump: Well, he has either got to do something or not do something, perhaps, because perhaps shouldn’t be doing it yet and perhaps we should be waiting for the United Nations, you know. He’s under a lot of pressure. He’s — I think he’s doing a very good job. But, of course, if you look at the polls, a lot of people are getting a little tired. I think the Iraqi situation is a problem. And I think the economy is a much bigger problem as far as the president is concerned.

yes, there is reason to be optimistic, however I believe this situation is going to get worse.

How might the GOP cause a brokered convention and not alienate its base? By making everyone become disgusted with the primary.

It doesn’t matter.

It’s going to stick to Cruz, because Cruz is pretending to be something that he is not.

Oh no. I don’t think Trump has a single thing to do with it.

Ted accusation that he did has the potential to damage Trump anyway.

In the very least, I don’t think any Cruz voters will ever vote for Trump.

The bridge is burnt, and the river has been blown up.

The acrimony between the “angry base”, that is trump and Cruz supporters, is at an all time high.

Divide and conquer.

I would say that those people who have had it with the GOP, myself included, are well on their way to achieving nothing in the end.

Assuming this scandal is true, yes he should get out now.

I do not expect that he will.

I think this situation is going to continue to deteriorate, and it’s going to be pushed in that direction by the GOP.

This doesn’t help Trump at all.

This divides the rebels to the point of making them utterly ineffective.

I don’t know what that 500k donation is all about, but at this point it does not appear to be on the up and up.

Sadly, I must agree.

Seems we are full on committed to political suicide and handing hitlery the presidency. . .and the Supreme Court. . .and when that happen, this country is done, its over (and I am not being overly dramatic).

That may be the case, but this scenario has the potential to blow up in his face.

Let’s say Cruz has a good 30-40% support base at this time. Why make that support base hate your friggin’ guts forever?

You might succeed in taking Cruz out, but you won’t win the general.

The term Conservative has almost no meaning. National Review mislabels itself as Conservative. Even Beck and Jeb are called Conservatives. By my definition of Conservative, Trump is far more conservative than Beck and Jeb.

Exactly right.

It is a word that started off usefully to broadly represent right wing thinking as opposed to left wing thinking.

Now, around here, it s a word meaning "the exact positions I have, and to not agree is a moral failing".

The word has become useless as people argue about who it applies to and who it doesn't.

I dont see how it can, even if ONE proved to be true, the slander was, it was 5...

that shows that trump is just pushing dirt and slime

yet, he claims he is not a politician

even though he ran for president himself in 2000, he is not a politician

huh?
How is being a lifelong democrat donor to hillary make someone a conservative?

How does donating tens of thousands of dollars to emmanuel, reid, pelosi, schumer make someone a conservative?

You people really have a disconnect in the brain...

Absolutely correct Jane, the word “Coservative” is meaningless . It’s just word games that progressives (on the right or left) like to play for the rubes. Other meaningless words, “Free” as in trade,”Comprehensive” as in immigration , “Common sense” as in gun laws, “Patriot” as in act. And on and on the game goes.
